ROH Unified (8/12/2006)- Liverpool England

The show starts off with a great promo by Nigel McGuinness.
A VERY young looking Davey Richards starts to cut a promo, but he is interrupted by Austin Aries & Roderick Strong, whose stolen ROH World Tag Team Titles have been returned. Aries then cuts a promo.

FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL MATCH: Colt Cabana vs. Johnny Storm vs. Matt Sydal vs. Spud- 6/10. Tons of fun. This match had both good action and good comedy.

Chris Hero jumped into the ring and started to cut a promo, but the fans shouted him down and Cabana chased him off.

DAVEY RICHARDS vs. JIMMY RAVE (w/Prince Nana)- 7.5/10. Wow.

The Briscoes cut a bad promo about how much they hate England.
BJ WHITMER vs. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI- 7/10. Good brawl.

After the match, Chris Hero jumped BJ, and KoW started to beat him down, until Cabana came out and made the save. Cabana then challenged Hero to a match.

COLT CABANA vs. CHRIS HERO- 6.5/10

Dragon cuts a good promo:

GO SHIOZAKI & SUWA vs. DOUG WILLIAMS & JODY FLEISCH (Winner receives an ROH World Tag Team Title shot tomorrow night)- 6.75/10. This match dragged a lot, and the crowd just wasn’t that into it.

After the match, SUWA started beating Shiozaki with a Singapore Cane, but Williams and Fleisch made the save.

FWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Robbie Brookside(c) vs. Chad Collyer- 5.75/10.
I marked out a bit for Robbie Brookside. It was really cool to see him in an ROH ring.

LAST CHANCE MATCH for the ROH WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Austin Aries(c) & Roderick Strong vs. The Briscoe Brothers-8.5/10.

PURE RULES MATCH TO UNIFY THE ROH WORLD TITLE AND ROH PURE TITLE: ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson vs. ROH Pure Champion Nigel McGuinness- 10/10. PERFECT.
This was just plain brutal. Nigel god bloody as hell. This had great technical wrestling as well as tons of intensity. Only Nigel and Dragon can put on a 1/10 match and have it not even be their best match against each other.

Overall this show is great. A perfect match, and awesome tag team title match, and the only match on this card worse than 6/10 (which is very good for an opener) has ROBBIE BROOKSIDE in it (and I am willing to forgive this because of how cool it is to see Robbie in an ROH ring). I am honestly amazed that this show is still in stock!
