NJPW Invasion Attack 2015 (4/5/2015)- Tokyo, Japan

TIME SPLITTERS. YUJI NAGATA, YOHEI KOMATSU, & CAPTAIN NEW JAPAN vs. SHO TANAKA, TIGER MASK IV, JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER, RYUSUKE TAGUCHI, & MANABU NAKANISHI- 4.5/10

TOMOAKI HONMA, HIROYOSHI TENZAN, & SATOSHI KOJIMA vs. THE BULLET CLUB (Cody Hall, Tama Tonga, & Yujiro Takahashi) (w/MAO)- 4/10
Yujiro’s Gal Pal has a name.

IWGP JR. HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Young Bucks(c) vs. Roppongi Vice- 8/10
An awesome showing from Roppongi Vice, and a good finish that allows for a bunch of fresh new match-ups in the ultra-stale Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title Division. One thing I didn't like was that count-out tease spot because it made our new babyfaces look like idiots, but the spot with Rocky giving Barreta that extra shove to get him into the ring before the count-out was cool.

IWGP JR. HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Kenny Omega(c) (w/Tama Tonga) vs. Mascara Dorada (w/many babyface Jr. Heavyweights)- 8/10
WOW! A great showing for Dorada, and they had a few GREAT nearfalls in there that had me biting.

IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Bullet Club (Luke Gallows & Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson)(c) (w/) vs. The Kingdom (w/Maria Kanellis)- 6.5/10
Seeing the Kingdom as babyfaces is so weird, and the camerawork is pervy enough that it might well be Jerry Lawler running the production truck. The story of the match was that Maria was the beautiful damsel in distress that the big ugly monsters (especially Anderson) wanted to menace and possibly do horrible things to. They told their story really well (major props to Maria and Anderson, and to a lesser extend to Gallows and Bennett) and it was kind of fun, but it also felt out of place- like it was too close to comedy for an IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Title match. Definitely still worth checking out, though.

HIROOKI GOTO, TETSUYA NAITO, & TOGI MAKABE vs. CHAOS (Shinsuke Nakamura, Tomohiro Ishii, & YOSHI-HASHI)- 6.5/10
Would have been better without that one spot where Ishii had to get his no-sell other people’s sh*t in. Goto pins Nakamura to set up a title math, but it was Naito who really impressed me here.

HIROSHI TANAHASHI & KATSUYORI SHIBATA vs. KAZUSHI SAKURABA & TORU YANO- 5/10

KAZUCHIKA OKADA (w/Gedo) vs. BAD LUCK FALE (w/Tama Tonga)- 7/10
Very enjoyable and fun. Fale has really improved over the last two years.

IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: AJ Styles(c) (w/Kenny Omega) vs. Kota Ibushi- 9/10
Great match, and HOLY F*CK WHAT A FINISH!

A very fun show from New Japan with some great wrestling on it (especially the main event!)
