ROH Hate: Chapter 2 (7/23/2010)- Collinsville, IL

THE BRAVADO BROTHERS vs. THE HOUSE OF TRUTH (w/Truth Martini)- 6/10. Good opener.

GRIZZLY REDWOOD vs. ERICK STEVENS (w/Prince Nana)- 4/10. No botches, but no real story or excitement, either.

NECRO BUTCHER vs. RASCHE BROWN- No rating. Good segment. This was all-brawl and the match never actually officially started. Good stuff, though, and it built to a rematch (presumably intended for a major show, but we’ll never know because Rasche got fired soon after).

PICK 6 CONTENDERS SERIES MATCH: Colt Cabana(4) vs. Roderick Strong(1) (w/Truth Martini)- 6.75/10

PRE-MATCH PROMOS- GREAT. Awesome promo from the Bucks officially becoming pro-TNA heels and letting Davey officially become a babyface in his adoptive home town.
AMERICAN WOLVES vs. GENERATION ME- 8.5/10. Hard hitting, high impact, and lots of cool stuff. The finish is one of the coolest spots I have seen in a long time.
Grr… after the match, Davey cuts one of those “thank you for coming” promos of his that are usually at the end of shows where he breaks kayfabe a bit. GRRRR

AUSTIN ARIES, KENNY KING, & RHETT TITUS vs. TYLER BLACK, JERRY LYNN, & DELIRIOUS (w/Daizee Haze)- 7/10.

AFTERMATH- Aries kidnapping Haize… not so good. Especially because there was no follow-up to it on this DVD. Steen Jumping Tyler… Great! Especially with Generico coming out to make the save, transitioning smoothly into…

KEVIN STEEN vs. EL GENERICO- 8/10. I have never said “WOW!” to a non-finish before.

THE BRISCOE BROTHERS & AMAZING KONG vs. THE KINGS OF WRESTLING & SARA DEL REY (w/Shane Hagadorn)- 8.5/10. LOVED IT (but I am a sucker for inter-gender wrestling when gender is ignored and physical size is given preference, as it was here).
This was a good, old-fashioned, babyfaces vs. heels match. The Kings got great heat all the way through, especially Sara, and the pop when Jay finally slugged her in the face then made a hot tag to Kong was just great! I also particularly enjoyed the babyfaces being introduced as weighing “a combined total of 435 lbs and none of your damn business.”
This match also contained one hilarious moment, that I can’t figure out if it was intentional or not: Jay Briscoe had Claudio in the corner, then did that Kneeling Reverse STO into the 2nd turnbuckle spot with Death Rey, sending her face right smack into Claudio’s crotch. The part that I can’t figure out if it was intentional or not is that Sara then started selling it as if she had been punched in the jaw… maybe my mind is in the gutter and she just accidentally hit her jaw on Claudio’s thigh or something… or maybe she was trying to imply that there is something down there large and hard enough to do significant damage when rammed into Sara’s mouth. Buy the DVD and decide for yourself.

BONUS MATCH: The Briscoe Brothers vs. AJ Styles & Matt Sydal from ROH’s 100th Show (4/22/2006)- 7.5/10

Overall, a GREAT show from ROH, with three matches you should go out of your way to see, and some great action otherwise. Objectively, the Wolves vs. Generation Me match edges out the inter-gender match for the match of night, but this is still definitely a must-buy for fans of Kong and Del Rey, as well as fans of inter-gender wrestling.
