JAY WHITE & DAVID FINLAY JR. vs BULLET CLUB (Doc Gallows & Cody Hall)- 5/10
Fun opener, especially the stuff with Cody Hall and Jay White in the beginning.
TETSUYA NAITO, KOTA IBUSHI, & MASCARA DORADA vs. HIROYOSHI TENZAN, TOGI MAKABE, & YOHEI KOMATSU- 6.5/10
No DQ for Teznan shoving the ref like that when the ref was trying to tell him not to interfere?
CAPTAIN NEW JAPAN, KATSUYORI SHIBATA, & TIGER MASK IV vs. BULLET CLUB (AJ Styles, Tama Tonga & Bad Luck Fale)- 6.75/10
Great heat on Tiger Mask. I hated the spot where AJ and Shibata took turns eating big shots in the corner but then barely sold them and ran across the ring to give the other guy a receipt.
HIROSHI TANAHASHI, RYUSUKE TAGUCHI, & KUSHIDA vs. CHAOS (Toru Yano, YOSHI-HASHI, & Gedo)- 6.25/10
Fun stuff with a good finish and almost no Yano stupidity.
G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK B MATCH: Satoshi Kojima vs Yujiro Takahashi (w/Cody Hall)- 6.75/10
I can see some people not liking the interference, but I’m fine with it every once in a while.
G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK B MATCH: Yuji Nagata vs. Karl Anderson (w/Tama Tonga)- 7.25/10
G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK B MATCH: Tomoaki Honma vs. Michael Elgin- 7.5/10
A great match with Elgin working over Honma’s head. Elgin’s power moves even managed to make this feel different from every other Honma match where he tries to do falling headbutts and misses so the other guy works over his head.
G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK B MATCH: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Tomohiro Ishii- 8/10
Shinsuke was Shinsuke, Ishii actually sold well, and they had one hell of a finishing sequence.
G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK B MATCH: Hirooki Goto vs. Kazuchika Okada (w/Gedo)- 7.75/10
GREAT match with some good false finishes and cool spots. I would have given it an 8/10 if the guy who had been getting his head worked over all match didn’t start his big comeback with a series of headbutts.
A good show from New Japan. B Block is kicking A Block’s butt in terms of consistency so far.
