NJPW G1 Climax 25 Day 19 (8/16/2015)- Tokyo, Japan
DELIRIOUS THAT ROH IS COMING TO JAPAN- cool.
JUSHIN â€"THUNDER†LIGER, SHO TANAKA, & YOHEI KOMATSU vs. DAVID FINLAY JR., MASCARA DORADA, & RYUSUKE TAGUCHI- 4/10
It's a pointless six minute match.
YUJI NAGATA, MANABU NAKANISHI, & JAY WHITE vs. CAPTAIN NEW JAPAN, SATOSHI KOJIMA, & HIROYOSHI TENZAN- 4.25/10
It's another pointless six minute match.
MICHAEL ELGIN vs. YOSHI-HASHI- 5.5/10
A mostly pointless match that didn't really need to go as long as it did.
CHAOS (Kazushi Sakuraba, Toru Yano, & Tomohiro Ishii) vs. BULLET CLUB (Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, & Yujiro Takahashi)- 5/10
So after getting the win in basically every G1 undercard match he was in, Tama Tonga... gets pinned for no reason. If, for some reason, Ishii had to win here, couldn't he have pinned Yujiro, who isn't on any sort of winning streak at all? Or if the point was to make him look strong, why not have him pin Bad Luck Fale? Why pin the guy on the big winning streak?
HIROOKI GOTO, KATSUYORI SHIBATA, & KOTA IBUSHI vs. TOGI MAKABE, TETSUYA NAITO, & TOMOAKI HONMA- 5.75/10
The young boys had to pry Shibata off of Naito after the match.
TENRYU WANTS OKADA- okay. That should be a little bit cool.
IWGP JR. HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Young Bucks(c) (w/Cody Hall) vs. reDRagon- 8.5/10
Slower-paced than what we usually get from a Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title match, but no less awesome.
IWGP JR. HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: KUSHIDA(c) vs. Ricochet- 7.5/10
BULLET CLUB (AJ Styles, Doc Gallows, & Karl Anderson) (w/Tama Tonga) vs. Michael Bennett, Matt Taven, & Kazuchika Okada (w/Maria Kanellis & Gedo)- 7/10
Do we REALLY still need to be doing the â€"bullet Club big monsters are hypnotized by Maria’s sexiness†spots? Didn’t we already cap off that storyline? And it stunk! (That being said, props are due to Maria for her facial expressions in the background when Gallows showed up to snap the other two out of it. That was great stuff).
Other than that, this was a very fun match.
G1 CLIMAX 25 FINALS: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Shinsuke Nakamura- 9.5/10
We had some utterly crazy High Fly Flowage here and a bunch of awesome Boma Ye spots from Nakamura. Fantastic match!
A great show from New Japan with an MOTYC as the main event, but there is really no reason to watch the entire first half of the show. Just skip to intermission and you’ll be much happier.
