NWA Total Nonstop Action
June 26, 2002
Huntsville, Alabama.

We get a recap of the last show. It was a long recap, and it was all focused on Jeff Jarrett fighting everyone.

Commentary table start the show hyping tonight's card. First sign I see in the crowd says "HEY YO!, I'M DRUNK, 4:20"

Jeff Jarrett vs Scott Hall w/Jackie Fargo and Tony Keith - 4.5/10
I'm not gonna lie, I'm highly surprised this match is opening the show. The 3-on-1 situation makes me think Jarrett is the face here. The match was pretty decent until K-Krush interfered, but Brian Christopher just chased him out and the match wasn't stopped, after that Keith low blowed Jarrett and double teamed him with Hall. Jeff Jarrett was 100% the babyface here. What was the point in having K-Krush out there

Cheex w/The Brown-eye Girl vs Frank Parker - 1/10
402 lbs!! I had totally forgot about Cheex! and he was trained by the Minnesota Wrecking Crew!!! This was terrible and I'm a bit disgusted at Cheex. BEG danced after the match and it was awkward.

During the match, Aleesha is talking some shit to Borash until he gives her money. And Brian Christopher and Scott Hall vs Jarrett and k-Krush announced for next week.

K-Krush vs Brian Christopher w/Those Nascar dudes - 4/10
In a 'your kind vs my kind' match, as per Brian Christopher's words, and another 3-on-1 situation that makes the heel look like a babyface. Decent enough match until, once again, the babyfaces interfere and low blow the heel. Is this opposite day? You're making me agree with Ed Ferrara!! I hate it!!

They are announcing a Round Robin tournament to crown the X-Division title with 4 contestants, so along with all the matches, we're having another 12 X-Division matches!? Why aren't the Flying Elvises not in the match if they won!?

VaLingerie Battle Royal for an NWA/TNA Contract - MINUS 10/10!
They announce Francine and it's not Francine, after that Borash gave up on announcing names. All the woman are wearing old man pajamas. Terrible segment, dudes were trying to grab the girls from ringside, bunch of chicks didn't sell being stripped, the announcers were worse than 1999 Jerry Lawler, and when Jonie was being eliminated, she was kicking off her pants off. Ed Ferrara grabbed Francine's boob and she was gonna suck his dick, took off his belt and beat the shit out of Ferrara, during this they eliminated Laree and Sharon. Holy shit fuck this was bad. Taylor Bond won

Apollo Interview - bad, Goldielocks is there and she has a great Puerto Rican accent, but if she wasn't hot enough, that would had been annoying. David Young and Bobcat come out to bitch about life. Goldielocks is still the best thing in NWA/TNA.

Apollo vs David Young w/Bobcat - 3/10
Why the fuck didn't they interact during the interview and actually give this match an excuse!? The only good thing about thsi match was Apollo's Knife edge chop. The relevant story here is that the whole time, Bobcat was flirting with the fans and Borash and it didn't matter until the end when Young went for a moonsault and got distracted.

The Rainbow Express w/Joel Gertner vs America's Most Wanted - 5.5/10
Joel Gertner did one of his promos and straight up said that the Rainbow Express is gay, and his words were positive, but it just came off as wrong. Match was originally going to be the Dubbs vs RE, but the Dubbs didn't want to wrestle gay people, so this is the debut of AMW who were just coming in to the building. Glad to see that AMW won, match was ok.

Ricky Steamboat is out there with a ref shirt and introduces Ken Shamrock. Shamrock walks out wearing flip flops, and talks about beign the champ. James Mitchell interrupts and brings out Slash who will fight Ken next week for the title, meanwhile Malice attacks Ken from behind. Steamboat can't do shit. Mitchell was awesome.

They're introducing the X-Division tournament

Double elimination match
AJ Styles vs Psicosis vs Low Ki vs Jerry Lynn - 4/10
FINALS: AJ Styles vs Jerry Lynn - 7/10
A double elimination match is not the same as Round Robin you morons! double elimination match means that as soon as you lose twice, you're eliminated from the match, so it's kinda like a gauntlet match where you can come in twice.
AJ Styles vs Psicosis. AJ Wins
AJ Styles vs Low Ki. AJ Wins
AJ Styles vs Jerry Lynn. Lynn wins
Jerry Lynn vs Psicosis. Lynn wins, Psicosis is eliminated
Jerry Lynn vs Low Ki. Lynn wins, Ki is eliminated
FINALS: AJ Styles vs Jerry Lynn. AJ wins.....and we still need another match? WHAT THE FUCK!
Overall, wrestling wise this deserved more, but people were getting pinned within the minute of wrestling, the rules were stupid complicated. You could have used all this time for an awesome 4-way between these guys. Last three matches were great.

Quoting Tenay "Remember the name ladies and gentlemen, AJ Styles, the future of our sport has arrive" Now fast forward to January 2016.

They announced yet another tournament next week. They talked a whole lot after AJ's win that almost made the momentum get lost.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
There was a bit more direction and spotlight of the real stars of TNA, but the racism, gay-hating, and use of woman is still cringeworthy. That main event was awesome, but it could had been so much more.
