NJPW G1 Climax 26: Day 5 (7/25/2016)- Fukushima, Japan

DAVID FINLAY JR. vs. YOSHI-HASHI- 3.5/10

JUSHIN â€"THUNDER” LIGER, YUJI NAGATA, SATOSHI KOJIMA, MANABU NAKANISHI, & KATSUYORI SHIBATA vs. MICHAEL ELGIN, KUSHIDA, TIGER MASK IV, JUICE ROBINSON, & RYUSUKE TAGUCHI- 3.75/10
A short clusterf*ck.

TOMOAKI HONMA & CAPTAIN NEW JAPAN vs. BULLET CLUB (Kenny Omega & Yujiro Takahashi)- 6.25/10

KATSUHIKO NAKAJIMA, GEDO, & TORU YANO vs. LOS INGOBERNABLES DE JAPON (Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI, & EVIL)- 6.75/10

BLOCK A MATCH: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Bad Luck Fale- 7.5/10
One hell of a slugfest.

BLOCK A MATCH: Sanada vs. Togi Makabe- 6.5/10
Sanada picks up another win. Makabe flips off the camera.

BLOCK A MATCH: Naomichi Marufuji vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan (w/Satoshi Kojima)- 6.25/10
A slow-paced match featuring Marufuji wearing Tenzan down with strikes to first the chest and then the head before handing Tenzan his first loss in this year’s G1. I wasn’t fond of the spot they did where Tenzan blocked a leaping via headbutt.

BLOCK A MATCH: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tama Tonga (w/Yujiro Takahashi)- 6.75/10
I popped big for Captain New Japan running out to protect Tanahashi from the illegal attack by Yujiro. Tama Tonga works over Tanahashi’s chest. Tanahashi made a comeback, but TAMA TONGA PINNED TANAHASHI with a terrible-looking cutter.

BLOCK A MATCH: Hirooki Goto vs. Kazuchika Okada (w/Gedo)- 8/10
It’s Okada vs. Goto. We’ve seen what they can do against each other, and it’s always awesome.

A pretty bland show with an awesome main event.
