HOMICIDE vs. CONNOR BRAXTON (w/Scarlett Bordeaux & Eddie Machete) - 2.75/10

A fun, short match with one baffling spot in which Scarlett was allowed to just run into the ring and attack Homicide. Why was this not a DQ? And if this was a No DQs match (and there is no indication that it was), why didn't Eddie Machete run in as well? The real reason, of course, was so that Homicide could hit Scarlett with an Ace Crusher, because why wouldn't you waste the pop of bumping of manager in a pointless opener?

POST-MATCH SEGMENT - oh. Now that the match is over, Eddie Machete umps Homicide from behind. Well that's f*cking stupid. This was done just so Cide could hit Eddie with the Cop Killah.

Then the OI4K jumped Homicide from behind. I figured this would lead to their opponents for tonight coming out and making the save, but it took them quite a while to do so, by which time Cide had already eaten a double-stomp/tombstone piledriver combination.

KONGO KONG & MARKUS CRANE (w/Luis J. Pinder) vs. OI4K (Jake & Dave Crist) (w/JT Davidson) - 6.5/10

Another fun match, but this one was much more wild.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT WITH SILAS YOUNG & THE BESTIES - good.

DAVEY RICHARDS vs. MATT RIDDLE - 7.75/10

If you squint a bit, Davey Richards screaming in pain kind of looks like Matt Striker screaming in pain, which is very cathartic to watch. The match was exactly what you'd expect, and I loved every moment of it.

MICHAEL ELGIN vs. PACO GONZALEZ vs. MAT FITCHETT vs. DEZMOND XAVIER - 7/10

We got a long series of dueling chants before the bell for Xavier and Elgin. Elgin won that battle by doing the worm, which got the fans to chant "HOLY SH*T!" The story of this match was that the other three guys would do their flippy stuff while Michael Elgin was a big strong monster threw them all around at will. It was GREAT.

MARTY DeROSA INTERVIEWS CHUCK TAYLOR - What the f*ck have I gotten myself into. After his quick introduction of Chuck, Marty said the following:

"Tonight you will face off against two very dangerous men: Silas Young and Davey Vega. Davey Vega has bitten your penis not once but twice."

How… how… how does one even respond to that? It turns out there is a way to respond to that. It involves Colt Cabana, and it is HILARIOUS.

DREW GALLOWAY vs. JEFF COBB - 6.75/10

DREW GALLOWAY PROMO - AWESOME!

CHRIS HERO vs. PENTAGON JR. - 6/10

The first minute of this match saw Hero almost hurt his neck when the top rope snapped, and Pentagon Jr. get hip-tossed right on top of a small child in the second row. The match was very short, but based on the number of Mexican Destroyers he took, I don't think it had much to do with Hero's neck being injured. They did a finish that would have felt ridiculous for Hero to kick out of, so it made sense that Hero wouldn't kick out, but I was definitely disappointed that this match was a short as it was, considering that these two are probably the biggest badasses outside of WWE (read as: NXT) or New Japan right now.

CHRIS HERO CHATS WITH THE CROWD - awesome.
A wonderful reminder that Chris Hero can be a fantastic babyface.

MARTY DEROSA INTERVIEWS MATT RIDDLE - BRO! He says that he spend the whole week training with Da Blue Meanie because he thought he was supposed to be wrestling Stevie Richards. That made me laugh my ass off. He also noted that Davey Richards was a "TNA superstar. One half of The Wolves. He howled at me!" He assured all of the bros and "brahs" (which he helpfully explained means "female bros") out there that "the King of Bros" would be back in AAW. HOORAY!

REY FENIX PROMO - a little disjointed, but otherwise very good

CHUCK TAYLOR & COLT CABANA vs. DAVEY VEGA & SILAS YOUNG - 5.25/10

It had its story, but, aside from the finish, this was a lot less funny than I was expecting.

MARTY DeROSA INTERVIEWS JEFF COBB - good

HEIDI LOVELACE vs KIMBER LEE VIDEO PACKAGE - AWESOME!

KIMBER LEE vs. HEIDI LOVELACE - 7.75/10

A great match with lots of emotion. Heidi is probably the best female babyface in the world, and is exactly the fiery babyface that NXT needs to eventually dethrone Asuka in the summer or fall of 2017. A very worthy send-off for these two.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT - Kimber Lee let Heidi have the moment, which was even better than the Hero one.

MARTY DeROSA INTERVIEWS THE BESTIES IN THE WORLD - amusing, plus it built up a match for the next show.

AAW HERITAGE TITLE MATCH:
A.R. Fox(c) vs. ACH - 7.75/10

Exactly the sort of cool flippy stuff you'd expect. ACH's win came across like a big moment. Props to Fox for his stuff after the match. I was certain he was going to jump ACH at some point, but he never did.

MARTY DeROSA INTERVIEWS ACH - great promo by ACH

AAW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH:
Sami Callihan(c) (w/JT Davidson) vs. Rey Fenix - 8.75/10

HOLY F*CKING SH*T THERE WAS SOME CRAZY STUFF IN HERE. Fenix was an excellent never say die babyface and Sami is truly what he claims to be: the Callihan Death Machine. He just keeps coming at you. This was NUTS, including Fenix taking a REALLY scary bump. AWESOME match!

POST-MATCH SEGMENT - f*cking awesome.
All of those times where it felt like someone was going to attack someone after a match tonight but didn't? There was a reason for that. Because Sami Callihan was going to do it to Fenix here. Homicide came out to make the save. The only thing about this that wasn't good was the way Fenix completely stopped selling his leg after the match.

PROMOS TO BUILD UP THE NEXT SHOW - Everyone was good, but Elgin, Sami, JT Davidson, and Heidi were the highlights here. Especially Heidi and Sami. Holy sh*t were those promos awesome.

An awesome show from AAW… and that's even with me having been disappointed with some of the top matches. This is one hell of a promotion and I'm glad I tuned in. I'll definitely be hunting down the next show when it comes out.
