NJPW Best of the Super Jr. 24 Day 10
BOSJ Block A
Taka Michinoku (2) vs "King" Ricochet (6) - 7/10
So the only good thing about having all of the Suzuki-Gun guys attack together is that they tend to not come out again, so we should have an interference free match between these two. Good match where Taka kept going for his usual tricks on Ricochet, who would fall once, and then learn from the mistake, yet Taka kept bringing more and more tricks, but at the end, it was Ricochet's athleticism and fight that would overcome the cheating and take the win.
There was a super Ricochet fan tonight, he wouldn't shut up, he kept saying 'Ricochet Ricochet Ricochet" over and over, always in groups of three.
BOSJ Block A
Jyushin "Thunder" Liger (0) vs Dragon Lee (6) - 8/10
Great match. Two babyfaces that really seemed like they could have taken a countout win in order to be forced to destroying their opponent. Finish was a really stiff looking foot stomp from the top rope.
Post-match - Liger goes around the ring tagging hands with the crowd, and kids and adults alike run to high five their fan favorite.
BOSJ Block A
Taichi (6) w/Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Desperado vs "The Aerial Assassin" Will Ospreay (8) - 6/10
This was similar to KUSHIDA's match from yesterday, where it's straight up a 3-on-1 situation thanks to the incompetence of Red Shoes. Ospreay manages to take on all the cheating from Suzuki-Gun and finds the strength to make a comeback, the only difference is that Taichi actually gets the win tonight after hitting Ospreay with a sick looking Last Ride.
BOSJ Block A
"The Villain" Marty Scurll (6) vs Hiromu Takahashi (6) - 9/10
This match was awesome. They did a cool alteration of both Takahashi and Scurll's sunset flip spots, combined into one, same spot that started Scurll's work on Takahashi's arm for the rest of the match. Himoru was an awesome babyface in this match, selling the arm and valiantly fighting himself back into the match; Scurll moreover, wasn't exactly acting heelish, but he was vicious and kept the pressure on enough that it looked heelish and make Takahashi's comeback so awesome. This is a must watch match of the tournament.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Once again, Block A does it again with a good show.
Match ups for the final day are:
Ospreay (8) vs Takahashi (8)
Taka (2) vs Dragon Lee (8)
Ricochet (8) vs Scurll (6)
Liger (0) vs Taichi (8)
I don't know where they're going, but it seems that they may have to do a tie breaker with whoever wins in the Ospreay vs Takahashi match. If I could book this, I'd allow Takahashi to win, Dragon Lee to win (Lee has a win over Takahashi, so eliminates him), Scurll to win, and main event it with Liger and Taichi. That way, Liger NEEDS to win, otherwise, since Taichi has a win over Lee, he would advance to the finals. So even if Liger lost all the tournament, this one win would be that of a hero's last fight making sure evil and cheaters don't prevail.
Realistically, I can see Takahashi winning and going against Lee in a tie breaker at the BOSJ Finals show.
