TOMOYUKI OKA & KATSUYA KITAMURA vs. BULLET CLUB (Tama Tonga & Yujiro Takahashi) - 3.25/10

MICHAEL ELGIN, TIGER MASK IV, & HIRAI KAWATO vs. SUZUKI-GUN (Minoru Suzuki, El Desperado, & Taichi) - 4.5/10

Suzuki-Gun jumps their opponents before the bell. Again. They win the match, but Kawato got a good false finish on El Desperado with a small package. Suzuki worked over Elgin's leg after the match and the others helped him beat Elgin up a bit.

HIROYOSHI TENZAN & SATOSHI KOJIMA vs. LOS INGOBERNABLES DE JAPON (Sanada & BUSHI) - 5.75/10

DAVID FINLAY JR. & JUICE ROBINSON vs. BULLET CLUB (Kenny Omega & Chase Owens) - 4.25/10

LOS INGOBERNABLES DE JAPON (Hiromu Takahashi & EVIL) vs. CHAOS (Toru Yano & Kazuchika Okada) (w/Gedo) - 2.75/10

LIJ jump their opponents to start things off. EVIL went to use a chair on Okada. The referee tried to stop him so EVIL shoved him to the ground. This was not a DQ. Stuff happed between Okada and EVIL that was okay. Hiromu Takahashi, who should be a huge star, got pinned by TORU YANO, who is only in the G1 because he's too fat to be a junior heavyweight. Why couldn't he get pinned by Okada?

BLOCK A MATCH: Kota Ibushi vs. Yuji Nagata - 7.75/10

Nagata nails Kota in the knee with a dropkick early, but then when Nagata rolled to the outside, Kota did a bunch of flips and stuff to rub in that not enough damage was done to cause him problems. Seeing this, Nagata said to himself "fine. I'll just go after this arm, then" and that's what he did. For a while. Then they just abandoned and that story started going for moves the head, but there was nothing that felt like a transition point the match felt very disjointed. It was still cool to see Nagata pull out some of his old stuff like the Drive Screw, but it felt like the match would have been better if they just stayed on the arm instead of going to the "just try to knock you out" story that we see at least three times a night.

BLOCK A MATCH: Bad Luck Fale vs. Tomohiro Ishii - 8.5/10

This was a brawl, but one where they used the size difference between the two competitors to tell a very effective story. Throw in some great reversals and perfectly timed and perfectly fluid shifts over to over armbars for a false finish and you've got your self quite the awesome match. This is definitely among the best Bad Luck Fale matches I've ever seen.

BLOCK A MATCH: Hirooki Goto vs. YOSHI-HASHI - 6.5/10

The match was pretty good, but I thought Goto was in YOSHI-HASHI's submission for WAY too long without tapped out and without it really affecting him for the rest of the match.

BLOCK A MATCH: Tetsuya Naito vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (w/El Desperado) - 8.75/10

An awesome match with Zack working on Naito's neck with his various torturous submission holds. Throw in some great selling from Naito and an excellent series of roll-ups for false finishes towards the end and you've got yourself one hell of an awesome match!

BLOCK A MATCH: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Togi Makabe - 6.75/10

They were on the outside forever with no count-out. Tanahashi worked the knee a bit and they did some cool stuff on the turnbuckles, but as a main event (especially in the G1) this was rather disappointing.

Final Thoughts
A pretty great show from New Japan despite the disappointing main event and an undercard that this weak even for a G1 show. Major props to Kota, Nagata, Ishii, Fale, Zack, and Naito for pulling this one up.
