PRO WRESTLING WORLD CUP REST OF THE WORLD QUALIFIER FIRST-ROUND MATCH:
Banks jumped Davis before the bell to start things off hot, and they spent the rest of this short match trading big moves. Was it spotty? In a way, yes. But it was also intense as hell, and it worked for the situation they were in.
JURN SIMMONS & TOM LARUFFA PROMOS - Great stuff. Wow. LaRuffa was a shockingly good babyface, especially considering that I don't think he's been a babyface in years. Jurn, for his part, was wonderfully dismissive of the whole thing. His promo can best be summed up with the casually-delivered line "I really don't know much about him. I know he's French and I know he's smaller than me, so… the object is mainly just to dominate him."

Nine minute of fun professional wrestling between two big dudes. I could have watched these guys go thirty minutes without getting bored.
"FLASH" MORGAN WEBSTER & RJ SINGH PROMOS - Meh.

ANGELICO & ICARUS PROMOS - Good.
This is not CHIKARA's Icarus with the ugly back tattoo. This guy is Hungarian. He cut a really passionate promo about the history of Hungarian pro wrestling and how they all had to leave the country at one point due to communist oppression and how he wanted to put Hungary back on the map of the pro wrestling world. It made me quite sad that he's got no shot of making it out the qualifiers.

Final Thoughts
This show was a decent combination of fine interviews and good 8-11 minute matches. That meant it never dragged, but also that nothi9ng had the chance to become really great. You won't regret watching it, but there's nothing you need to see here, either. Unless you're a promoter, in which case you need to watch this so that you know that you need to book more of Tom LaRuffa.
