FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL MATCH: Austin Aries vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Roderick Strong vs. Alex Shelley - 7/10

Awesome choice for an opener. When someone says â€"X-Division” this is what you should think of. Great wrestling, lots of athleticism, and fun spots.

AMW PROMO - Great

RAVEN PROMO & SEGMENT WITH LARRY ZBYSZKO - Great

AJ STYLES PROMO - Good

OPENING VIDEO PACKAGE - AWESOME! And Also what might be the only time we ever get to see the TNA voice-over guy.

SAMOA JOE vs. JUSHIN â€"THUNDER” LIGER - 5.5/10

Slightly disappointing considering the talent involved.

SONNY SIAKI, APOLO, & SHARK BOY vs. THE DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH (Simon Diamond, David Young, & Elix Skipper) - 5.75/10

JEFF JARRETT PROMO & SEGMENT WITH MONTY BROWN - Good

â€"THE ALPHA MALE” MONTY BROWN vs. LANCE HOYT - 6.5/10

Good series of near-falls towards the end.

3 LIVE KRU PROMO & SEGMENT WITH KIP JAMES - Great

3 LIVE KRU vs. TEAM CANADA (w/Scott D’Amore) - 5/10

GREAT aftermath.

ULTIMATE X MATCH FOR #1 CONTENDERSHIP TO THE TNA X-DIVISION TITLE:
Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams (w/Scott D’Amore) vs. Matt Bentley (w/Traci) - 7.5/10

Awesome action here. The finish felt a bit flat to me, but it got good heat from the live crowd.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH:
America’s Most Wanted(c) (w/Gail Kim) vs. The Naturals - 6.75/10

Great intensity in this match. It definitely had the â€"this is a fight, not a wrestling match” atmosphere. I loved the â€"PUSSY CAT!” chants at Harris. AMW are great heels.

JAMES MITCHELL PROMO - Mitchell explains to us that Abyss used to locked in a room with no light, no food, and no water when he was a child, so he is used to the conditions he has had to face leading up to the monster’s ball, and the other competitors aren’t. Then he makes the following comparison:

â€"Inviting Abyss, to the Monster’s Ball is not unlike inviting a combat veteran with a Purple Heart to a game of paintball. On one hand, you may have a little fierce and friendly, albeit messy, competitive fun. On the other hand you just might dredge up some ugly long-repressed memories and have a massacre on your hands.”
F*CKING AMAZING!

MONSTER’S BALL MATCH:
Sabu vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Rhino vs. Abyss (w/James Mitchell) - 8/10

THIS is what a Monster’s Ball is supposed to be! Spotty, bloody, full of weapons, and violent awesomeness! Tons of sick spots here.

SEGMENT WITH SHANE DOUGLAS, LARRY Z, & JEFF JARRETT - Okay. Larry Z effectively countered all of Shane’s semi-ridiculous points about how having a battle royale to determine the #1 contender tonight was unfair to Jeff Jarrett. Seeing Shane take the heel’s side here was a bit awkward, as he has been pretty much a babyface his entire time as an announcer.

30 MINUTE IRON-MAN MATCH FOR THE TNA X-DIVISION TITLE:
AJ Styles(c) vs. Christopher Daniels - 8.25/10

Awesome match. They did a great job with all of the near-falls at the end. You really felt as if someone could get a pin-fall at any moment, and that there was no way that anyone would be able to get another fall.

10 MAN OVER THE TOP GAUNTLET MATCH TO DETERMINE THE #1 CONTENDER TO THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE - 6/10

Everyone sold very well here. You really got the feeling that this was a match between a bunch of guys who were already exhausted. The stuff with Kip James and Ron Killings was good, too.

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH WITH TITO ORTIZ AS THE SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE:
Jeff Jarrett(c) vs. Rhino - no rating. Eh segment

Rhino hitting Jarrett with a low blow right in front of Tito and Tito doing nothing about it really hurt this match. It makes Tito look biased for letting Rhino cheat but not Jarrett, and takes the edge off of Jarrett using the guitar. Without the low blow, Rhino overcoming the odds is a much better moment. The aftermath was great, but not enough to erase the failings of the match itself.

BONUS MATCH:

ULTIMATE X REMATCH FROM TNA IMPACT: WINNER GETS A TNA X-DIVISION TITLE SHOT AT GENESIS:
Chris Sabin vs. Matt Bentley (w/Traci) vs. Petey Williams (w/Scott D’Amore) - 7/10

Great match. Not going to lie, though, I was pretty annoyed that they kept the commercial break in here (not that they showed actual commercials, but they did have a cut to black, then returned at a later point in the match, with Tenay welcoming us back from the commercial break). This isn’t TV, you don’t have to cut to a commercial, so why not show us the whole match?

Final Thoughts
Overall, a great show from TNA.
