JPW King of Pro Wrestling 2012 (10/8/2012)- Tokyo, Japan
MANABU NAKANISHI, YUJI NAGATA & STRONG MAN vs. TORU YANO, TAKASHII IIZUKA & TOMOHIRO ISHII-6/10
Crowd was hot for Nakashini's return, and the stuff with the chair was good
IWGP JR. HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) (c) vs. The Time Splitters (Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA)- 7/10
Standard tag team story with a babyface in peril, but that isn't a bad thing. A great match, and I loved the execution on the finish.
IWGP JR. HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Kota Ibushi(c) vs. Low Ki- 8.5/10
Slower than you would expect from these two, but just as awesome.
IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Hiroshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima(c) vs. Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr.- 6.5/10
YUJIRO TAKAHASHI vs. TETSUYA NAITO- 4.5/10
Naito showed a lot of fight and sold very well while Takahashi looked vicious and dominant... and the aftermath certainly added to that.
IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Hiroshi Tanahashi(c) vs. Minoru Suzuki- a PERFECT 10/10!
Just an absolutely outstanding match with amazing selling by both guys and awesome storytelling.
Overall, an AMAZING show from New Japan, although, as a non-Japanese speaker, I found it slightly hard to sit through as I really like having commentary to catch me up on angles so that I can have a greater appreciation for what is going on. Definitely a candidate for Show of the Year, and odds are this show and PWG Threemendous III will finish first and second on my list, although I'm not sure what order I'll put them in.
