OH Deft Or Deny II (1/19/2013)- Milwaukee, WI

ADAM COLE vs. SILAS YOUNG- 6.5/10

TADARIUS THOMAS vs. BOBBY FISH (w/Kyle O’Reilly)- 6.5/10

RHETT TITUS vs. CHARLIE HAAS- 4.5/10

JIMMY JACOBS, STEVE CORINO, & RHINO vs. JAY LETHAL & THE BRISCOE BROTHERS- 5.5/10
Fun pre-match heel promo by Corino. The match itself was pretty uninspired, but not bad.

MATT HARDY vs. BJ WHITMER- 5.5/10
Both men cut decent pre-match promos. The match itself had some great storytelling with Hardy going after BJ’s neck and constantly kicking out, even despite taking the Twist of Fate, but kicking out of the first Twist of Fate at one just seemed entirely unnecessary. Kicking out at one is something special, and it should be saved for special occasions. A semi-random undercard match with a guaranteed-to-be-crapped-on â€"tag partner comes down to ringside and throws in the towel” finish does not come close to constituting a special occasion.

POST-MATCH ANGLE- GREAT! Hardy starts cutting a promo demanding a TV Title shot so Adam Cole comes out and says that he will gladly give Matt a rematch. Matt goes to kick Cole in the nuts again but Cole blocks it and takes Matt down. Cole starts laying the boots to Matt so the refs come out and restrain him… allowing Matt to grab the belt and lay Cole out with it. Matt then leaves with Cole’s ROH TV Title belt.

DAVEY RICHARDS vs. KLYE O’REILLY- 8.75/10
We’ve waited an awfully long time to finally get this singles match but it was worth the wait! FANTASTIC MATCH! I popped whenever Davey kicked out because I tend to root for the babyfaces… but I also found myself popping when Kyle would kick out because this match was so awesome and I just didn’t want it to end.

DEFY OR DENY MATCH: Kevin Steen(champion) vs. Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Roderick Strong- 8/10
Not much to say about this other than the fact that it was awesome

Overall, an awesome show from ROH, but mostly on the strength of the top two matches and the Hardy-Cole segment. Between the first two shows, the live reports from the Cincinnati show and the build to the 11th Anniversary, it seems like ROH is off to a great start in 2013.
