ROH Honor vs. Evil (2/16/2013)- Cincinnati, OH
Q.T. MARSHALL BACKSTAGE PROMO- bad.
JAY BRISCOE vs. Q.T. MARSHALL- 4.75/10
When Marshall got to the ring, he cut a promo dissing Cincinnati, which actually got good heat. The match itself wasn’t particularly good, though. Jay dominated enough of the match that you got the sense that Q.T. doesn’t come anywhere close to being in Jay’s league, and Nigel’s commentary helped cement that feeling.
TADARIUS THOMAS BACKSTAGE PROMO- even worse than Marshall. Thomas can do some cool stuff in the ring, but he has no charisma at all.
JAY LETHAL vs. TADARIUS THOMAS- 6.5/10
Thomas looked good in defeat and Lethal gets a win heading into his title shot at the 11th Anniversary Show.
MARK BRISCOE vs. NATE WEBB- 5.75/10
Some fun stuff and some decent wrestling.
RODERICK STRONG vs. ACH- 7.5/10
GREAT showing from ACH. I really want to see more of this guy. He definitely has a bright future ahead of him.
LIVE HOOPLA WITH TRUTH MARTINI-
If you thought Scarlett Bordeaux looked sexy in CHIKARA’s Throwdown Lowdown videos… just wait until you’ve seen her without her pants on. Truth Martini, I am forever in your debt for this. Truth tries to get Veda Scott to become one of his Hoopla Hotties but she refuses. Hopefully this will lead to Veda vs. Scarlett, which would be a freakin’ dream match (in my pants, at least).
Truth then brings out Adam Cole and they do a bit to build to the TV Title match between Cole and Matt Taven at the 11th Anniversary Show. They also had some fun with Truth Martini’s â€"secret word†(underwear). Overall, this was a great segment. It was a lot of fun, built to an upcoming title match that needed some build, and more importantly… SCARLETT BORDEAUX IN HER UNDERWEAR!
CHARLIE HAAS vs. PEPPER PARKS- 4/10
The match was going fine until the dumb finish. Charlie brings some beer into the ring. The ref tries to take it from him, so Charlie shoves the ref down and kicks the case of beer at him… and there is no DQ. Charlie then sprays Pepper with the beer and rolls hip up… but Pepper sold the beer like he was knocked out or something. It just horrendous! He is already being a bully. That should be heelish enough! Just give Charlie the freakin’ clean win over this jabroni.
After the match Charlie assaults Cheeseburger.
BJ WHITMER vs. KYLE O’REILLY- 7/10
A great match, but I really disliked the booking here. Kyle is going into a tag team title match at the 11th Anniversary Show. He should look strong. Furthermore, we have MMA-type guy Kyle O’Reilly, tapping to BJ Whitmer of all people! WTF?!
SIX MAN ELIMINATION MATCH: Michael Elgin, Adam Cole, & Davey Richards vs. S.C.U.M. (Kevin Steen, Steve Corino, & Jimmy Jacobs)- 7.5/10
Certainly a great match, but it felt like it should have been a heck of a lot better. After the match the SCUM tries to beat down Elgin and Lethal but the Briscoes make the save.
Overall, a decent show from ROH. The main event in particular was disappointing but the crowd was hot for everything, Roddy and ACH put on a great match, BJ Whitmer showed some of his old flash, and it built well to the 11th Anniversary Show. More importantly, though, you need to buy this show to show support for Truth Martini’s Hoopla. If you spend your money on this DVD, it will send ROH a clear message: We want to see more of Scarlett (in every possible way)! (Okay, in all seriousness, though, I really do want to see Scarlett vs. Veda, and I think this would be a great way to transition Veda into an in-ring competitor).
