ROH Testing The Limit (8/7/2004)- Philadelphia, PA

GOOD TIMES, GREAT MEMORIES, WITH THE EMBASSY- Nana says that Jimmy Rave is relaxing in Africa. He also says that Rave was the one who invented the Styles Clash and demands that it be known as the â€"Rave Clash” from now on.

NIGEL MCGUINNESS vs. JOHN WALTERS- 4/10
Good wrestling, but WAY too short.

RODERICK STRONG vs. IZZY (w/Special K)- 4.5/10

ALLISON DANGER PROMO- Danger says that she own Maff & Whitmer’s contracts so she can book them against whoever she wants (including Mick Foley). She then calls out the Carnage Crew and asks them to beat the crap out of Maff and Whitmer. Loc has fun checking out Danger’s ass and Devito tells her that they don’t take orders from her.

THE CARNAGE CREW vs. DAN MAFF & BJ WHITMER- 4.75/10

FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL MATCH: 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley vs. Ace Steel- 6.25/10
Before the match, Alex Shelley gave Jay Lethal one last chance to accept a spot in Generation Next, but Jay says he isn’t taking any more shortcuts to the top. Scorpio looked good, and Jay almost pining him felt like an important moment for Jay. After the match, Shelley cuts a promo which results in Lethal challenging him to a one-on-one match.

THE BRISCOE BROTHERS vs. LOW KI & HOMICIDE (w/Julius Smokes)- 6.25/10
Low Ki getting pinned didn’t feel like the big deal that Gabe tried to make it on commentary. Ki kicking Jay in the head, though… THAT felt like it was a big deal; like it was the sort of thing that could justify a big brawl. Decent match, GREAT post-match segment.

ROH TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: CM Punk & Colt Cabana(c) vs. the Havana Pitbulls (w/Julius Smokes)- 6.5/10

MAFF & WHITMER PROMO TO ALLISON DANGER- they tell her to just let it go.

HIGHLIGHTS OF SAMOA JOE vs. TRENT ACID- Apparently Trent injured his ankle very early on, and, because of time constraints, Gabe says that they can’t show the match, so we’ll have to settle for random highlights.

2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH: Austin Aries vs. Bryan Danielson- 8.5/10
A great match, but it also had some moments that really annoyed me. The ref was staring RIGHT AT IT and completely missed Aries’ fish-hooking Dragon. Dragon also completely no-sold his giant-ass extra-long airplane spin. They told a good story here, but they really seemed to lose the crowd a bit towards the end.

Overall, this was really a one-match show, and felt that way the whole way through. The extremely short undercard and the lack of entrances made it feel like they were worried about running out of time on the DVD (which goes less than three hours). In fact, aside from the main event, the only people to get a full entrance were the Second City Saints, and that was just so Cabana and Ace could do a tribute to Rick James. Some other guys got the very beginnings of their entrances shown, while other got absolutely none at all. Yeah, Danielson vs. Aries was awesome, but it really felt like you were just waiting for that match and that the rest of the show was unimportant, and when you finally get to the match, its (necessarily) slow pace takes some of the wind out of the excitement you have build up over the last hour and a half waiting to get to the match. Not a show I would recommend, unless you REALLY want to see Aries and Dragon go seventy-five minutes.
