ROH Night Of The Grudges (6/14/2003)- Cambridge, MA
THE CARNAGE CREW vs. THE CHRISTOPHER STREET CONNECTION (w/Ariel)- 5/10. Exactly the sort of blow-off you would expect from such a bad feud. Some good comedy spots in the beginning with the Christopher Street Connection, though.
MATT STRYKER vs. CHANCE BECKETT- 5.75/10
FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL MATCH: Chris Sabin vs. Justin Credible vs. John Walters vs. Homicide (w/Julius Smokes)- 6.75/10
HOMICIDE, HIS CREW, & LOW KI BACKSTAGE- interesting
CM PUNK PROMO- good
CODE OF HONOR IS WAIVED: CM Punk & Colt Cabana vs. BJ Whitmer & Raven- 7/10.
AFTERMATH- Good. This feud needed to escalate, and this did it.
GMC INTERVIEWS MATT STRYKER- good
PRINCE NANA vs. DIABLO SANTIAGO (w/Oman Tortuga)- 3/10
THE S.A.T. vs. MIKEY WHIPWRECK & DIXIE (w/Special K)- 7/10.
AFTERMATH- good in theory, but the execution was poor.
#1 CONTENDER’S TROPHY MATCH: Paul London vs. AJ Styles (w/Alexis Laree)- 8.75/10
AWESOME match that told a great story with London working over AJ’s leg. A great fast pace, cool spots, great selling, and a very hot crowd.
LOSING FACTION MUST SPLIT UP: The Group (Samoa Joe, CW Anderson, & Michael Shane) vs. The Prophecy (Christopher Daniels, Donovan Morgan, & Dan Maff (w/Allison Danger)- 7/10. This felt nowhere near as big as it should have. Even nine years later. This feud remains the most disappointing feud in ROH history.
THE RING CREW EXPRESS (Dunn & Marcos) & SLYK WAGNER BROWN (w/April Hunter) vs. SPECIAL K (w/the rest of Special K)- 5/10
This was billed as a bonus match, but was on the same track as the regular show, as well as the highlights from Lit vs. Jimmy Jac’t Cash.
DANIELS PROMO & SEGMENT WITH RAVEN- good.
SAMOA JOE PROMO- good
SPECIAL K RAVE- good segment, but the strobe light hurt my eyes while I was watching it.
Overall, a pretty good show from ROH propped up by an awesome match between AJ Styles and Paul London.
