PWG All-Star Weekend V: Night 1 (4/7/2007)- Van Nuys, CA
DISCO MACHINE vs. NOSAWA-3.75/10
Boring
RODERICK STRONG vs. ROCKY ROMERO- 7/10
Kind of had a feel of â€"just moves†to it, even though they were definitely telling a story with Roddy working over Rocky’s back.
CANDICE & TORNADO SEGMENT- good
Tornado apologizes to Candice for roughing her up at a previous show. She accepts his apology, and they hug. Then Tornado pimp-slaps her and threatens to beat the sh*t out of her if she f*cks up again.
CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI vs. HUMAN TORNADO (w/Candice LeRae)- 6/10
Tornado offers to pimp Candice out to Claudio in exchange for Claudio forfeiting the match. He actually got the fans to sing â€"Take the ho, Claudio!†Claudio wouldn’t do it, so Tornado tried to use Candice as a distraction to pimp-slap Claudio, but Claudio blocked it. Claudio chased Tornado around the ring, where Tornado grabbed Candice to use her as a human shield. Tornado then shoved her face-first into the ringpost, (and it sounded like she hit HARD) and when Claudio looked down to check on her, Tornado attacked him… and even with all of this abuse and more, Candice still helped Tornado get the win… which he repays her for but shoving her into the guardrail. I cannot wait six months for Chris Hero to save her.
MATT CLASSIC vs. KIKUTARO-
They put on a twenty minute technical clinic.
Okay, not really. They put on exactly the comedy match you would expect.
JACK EVANS vs. KEVIN STEEN- 6.5/10
SOMETHING HAPPENS WITH THE DYNASTY & SCORPIO SKY- I’m not really sure what happened because PWG only showed us part of the segment, but what I think happened was that Arrogance brought out a not-quite-midget version of Scorpio Sky with Sky’s old Aries Xpress attire and mask, but Sky dove onto them and chased it out of the building.
FRANKIE KAZARIAN, TOP GUN TALWAR, TJ PERKINS, & RONIN vs. THE DYNASTY (Joey Ryan, Chris Bosh, Karl Anderson, & Scott Lost) (w/Jade Chung)- 5/10
They did stuff with no real story. I was extremely bored with this match, and was ready for it to end long before it actually did. Karl Anderson has clearly never seen a single Goldberg match, because he did the jackhammer before going for the spear.
ALEX SHELLEY vs. KAZ HAYASHI- 7.5/10
Shelley works on Kaz’s arm and Kaz works on Shelley’s knee. If Shelley had sold his knee better, this probably would have been about an eight.
LOW KI vs. DAVEY RICHARDS- 7.5/10
PWG WORLD TITLE MATCH: El Generico(c) vs. PAC- 8.5/10
PAC IS AMAZING!
Overall, a very good show from PWG, but I was really expecting more out of some of the matches (especially Davey vs. Low Ki).
