WWE Money in the Bank 2014
WWE Money in the Bank 2014 (6/29/2014)- Boston, MA
WWE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Usos(c) vs. the Wyatt Family- 7/10
Great opener. The Wyatt's crappy music from Raw is gone. The new stuff isn't great. Why don't they just let them keep using Bray's music?
DEAN AMBROSE PROMO- very good.
WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: Paige(c) vs. Naomi (w/Cameron)- 5.75/10
Michael Cole felt the need to remind us that "you can win the match by submission. The match was very back and forth with a lot more submissions than you usually see in women's matches in WWE.
DAMIEN SANDOW PROMO- he was dressed as Paul Revere and cut a fun promo. On his way to the ring, there was a "Sorkin 3:16" sign. I thoroughly approve and am so totally super-excited for the final season of The Newsroom.
DAMIEN SANDOW vs. ADAM ROSE (w/the Rosebuds)- 4/10
Am I the only one who finds Adam Rose to be extremely annoying? Also Sandow did a freakin' moonsault! WHY ARE THEY WASTING HIM WITH THESE DAMN COSTUMES?!
JBL: "I happen to not like bunnies because they're evil."
MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH: Rob Van Dam vs. Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Coulter)- 8.5/10
Dolph Ziggler is rocking the Superman spitcurl. Ambrose's entire Tron video appears to be him punching Seth Rollins, which I think works perfectly with his character.
AWESOME match. A great story between Rollins and Ambrose, with the other doing great spots to buy to them time to recover. Dolph and Kofi in particular looked like they took a lot of punishment. And how about that Rollins bump?!
Ambrose had the match won, but Kane attacke dhim. Kane then helped Rollins win. That crafty Authority. They even came out to raise Rollins' arms in victory.
RANDY ORTON PROMO- he says he will win the WWE World Heavyweight Title tonight. He also says that unlike Rollins, he will win with no help.
CURTIS AXEL & RYBACK vs. GOLDUST & STARDUST- 4.25/10
I don't like it, but I can't deny that this Stardust thing is getting over. There were even people in the crowd doing his hand-signal with him. The problem, of course is that it really doesn't work without the paint on your hands. One guy was so bad it he was actually calling for the Diamond Cutter.
Cody got the win with the roll-up, but got attacked by McGilliutty right afterward. Cody and Goldust still came out on top, which begs the question... why not just have them go over with their finisher.
FANDANGO, LAYLA, & SUMMER RAE BACKSTAGE- painful. I am predicting that we get the Haas-Gayda-Dawn Marie finish from Armageddon 2004 where he dumps them both.
BIG E. vs. ALEXANDER RUSEV (w/Lana)- 6/10
Lana's angry face was AWESOME! You jut saw her get more and more and more angry until she yelled at everyone to shut up. I also laughed my ass off at the "Vladimir Putin Rulez" sign.
The match built very well from their last match. I also LOVED the tease of Big E. breaking the Accolade, only of Ruev to just lock it in tighter. GREAT finish!
STEPH & THE BELLAS BACKSTAGE- Steph is a jerk and insists that Brie leave because she is not "authorized personnel." Brie showed the vidoe of Vickie shoving Steph into mud. Somehow we at some saw it too. I hope the guy who put this video up on the TitanTron gets kayfabe fired.
LADDER MATCH FOR THE VACANT WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Randy Orton vs. Kane vs. Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus vs. John Cena vs. Kane vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman)- 7.75/10
Kane was only there to help Orton win. Steph and Hunter were at ringside to cheer Randy on. They did a lot of great stuff, but it wasn't was good as past MITB matches. It really felt like with SO many top names in this match, management told them not to do anything super-crazy. Cena wins, and the home-town fans seemed happy enough with that.
A very good show from WWE, but nothing blow-away.
