BLOCK A MATCH: Satoshi Kojima vs. Tomoaki Honma- 5.5/10
BLOCK A MATCH: Bad Luck Fale vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. (w/TAKA Michinoku)- 5.25/10
BLOCK B MATCH: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Tetsuya Naito- 7/10
Tenzan worked over Naito’s neck a lot.
BLOCK B MATCH: Karl Anderson vs. Minoru Suzuki (w/TAKA Michinoku)- 7/10
BLOCK B MATCH: Togi Makabe vs. Toru Yano- 1.25/10
Yano cheated to win in the same way he always does. The match was very short.
BLOCK B MATCH: AJ Styles vs. Yujiro Takahashi- 7.5/10
Okay at the beginning, but it really picked up towards the end.
BLOCK B MATCH: Kazuchika Okada (w/Gedo) vs. Lance Archer (w/TAKA Michinoku)- 7/10
BLOCK A MATCH: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yuji Nagata- 7.5/10
BLOCK A MATCH: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Katsuyori Shibata- 7.75/10
MUCH better than last year’s crapfest. They even SOLD this time (well… more Ishii than Shibata). The â€"sit down and take turns kicking each other in the back†spot annoyed me for the same reason that their â€"take turns chopping each other†spot bothered me in their match last year. Shibata offering to fight with one hand behind his back when Ishii was selling his recently-dislocated shoulder came off as very dickish.
BLOCK A MATCH: Doc Gallows vs. Shinsuke Nakamura- 7.75/10
The best match I’ve ever seen Gallows have.
Another great G1 show, filled with good wrestling from top to bottom. Nothing was blow-away, but almost everything was great.
