PWG Sold Our Soul For Rock N’ Roll (5/23/2014)- Reseda, CA

RODERICK STRONG vs. BRIAN CAGE- 4.5/10
Nice moves and all, but they really needed to sell more.

A.R. FOX vs. RICH SWANN- 7.5/10
Lots of cool stuff.

BEST FRIENDS (Chuck Taylor & Trent?) vs. WRESTLING’S CUTEST TAG TEAM (Joey Ryan & Candice LeRae)- 6/10
Being a Kentucky Gentleman, Chuck Taylor refused to lay his hands on Candice, so he tagged in Trent?. The fans thought Candice should be judged on her abilities rather than her gender, so chanted â€"EQUAL RIGHTS!” Then, in one of those â€"only in PWG” moments the chant transitioned from â€"EQUAL RIGHTS!” to â€"PUNCH HER FACE!” and it was meant in the most complementary and respectful way possible.
I guess she was afraid or something, though, because she tagged in Joey Ryan (everyone booed and chanted â€"WE WANT CANDICE!” Then they just gave up and started cheering for Joey. After the first spot, Joey asked the fans if they wanted Candice (they did), and he tagged her in.
The story of the match was that Chuck was very unhappy with the prospect of him or his best friend manhandling a woman. This led to some comedy with Candice working armlocks. Then Joey got tagged back in and we got more wrestling.
ROCKET LAUNCHER INTO A TORNADO DDT! Chuck broke the pin up by grabbing Candice’s hair, which got MAJOR heat. He then blamed her for making him almost hit her, but vowed never to do so… so she slapped him in the face… and rather than hit a woman, Chuck walked out of the match.
They continued to wrestle with the two babyfaces taking on Trent? until, to quote Kevin Steen: â€"Oh. My. G-d.” Chuck Taylor came out in a long blonde wig and a blue dress… and carrying a clutch bag. This allowed him to hit Candice. This was FANTASTIC!
Good match.

ALEX KOSLOV vs. ROCKY ROMERO- 7.25/10
Good submission wrestling, and a good story with Koslov trying to hit the Sliced Bread #2.

ACH vs. RICCOCHET- 8.5/10
HOLY SH*T THESE GUYS ARE ATHLETIC! Major props for making this match are especially due to ACH, who is basically what the babyface version of Dolph Ziggler’s â€"show-off” character should be. To do something like that requires finding this amazing balance of impressive and cocky without actually coming across like a douche, and in this match, ACH did a perfect job of staying JUST over the line to the point where he wasn’t unlikeable, but you really wanted to see Ricochet beat him.

KEVIN STEEN & THE YOUNG BUCKS vs. CEDRIC ALEXANDER, JOHNNY GARGANO, & TREVOR LEE- 8.75/10
Standard PWG six-man INSANITY!

KNOCKOUTS AND SUBMISSIONS ONLY MATCH FOR THE PWG WORLD TITLE: Adam Cole(c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly- 9/10
HELL YEAH! Now we just need those f*cking Young Bucks to lose their titles!
These guys told an awesome story working over the arm and leg, and we got a fantastic payoff in the form of Cole finally losing the belt.

Another awesome show from PWG.
