Sources tell us that WWE has signed independent talent Candice LeRae to a developmental deal with the company and that she will start at the Performance Center in the next few weeks as she has passed her medical testing.
LeRae, 32, was one of the 32 women who took part in the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament which saw her defeat names such as Renee Michelle, and Nicole Savoy before falling to Shayna Baszler in the semi finals.
She also made an appearance on the October 26th, 2017 episode of NXT, participating in a battle royal which was won by Nikki Cross to determine one of the contenders for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
She is also the only woman to ever hold the PWG Tag Team titles with her tag team partner, Joey Ryan.

imagine signing her when she was actually over worldwide and not when she was your developmental fan favorite's wife

She's not at her peak PWG level of over, but she's still one of the best female babyfaces in the world, especially in terms of her selling. No reason not to sign her.
Although, if it was me, I would have at least kept it quiet or non-official so she could be brought in as a surprise counter to Zelena Vega for the Takeover match.

not saying that they shouldn't, but it's yet another example of WWE arriving late to the party.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Jan 11th, '18, 12:36She's not at her peak PWG level of over, but she's still one of the best female babyfaces in the world, especially in terms of her selling. I think the big surprise for that Gargano/Almas match is gonna be Ciampa costing him the match, so they may as well hint she'll be there. She can be the name at ringside that jumps the barricade

I figured they'd save Ciampa for the rematch. Maybe have Vega cost him the first one, then debut Candice taking her out in the rematch, only for Ciampa to cost him the match so that you only have one month to kill before the Mania weekend Takeover, not two.cero2k wrote: ↑Jan 11th, '18, 13:01not saying that they shouldn't, but it's yet another example of WWE arriving late to the party.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Jan 11th, '18, 12:36She's not at her peak PWG level of over, but she's still one of the best female babyfaces in the world, especially in terms of her selling. Re: Candice LeRae Signs With WWE
hmm maybe, wasn't sure if there was a takeover inbetween mania and rumble. I just think a Ciampa return is more of a Takeover thing than a Candice debut, so if there's two takeovers left, i'll agree with youBig Red Machine wrote: ↑Jan 11th, '18, 14:37

I'm pretty sure it's just one, and you're right about the Ciampa return needing to be a Takeover thing (or at least live). Maybe they could do one before the March PPV in Columbus (Gargano is from Ohio) and fill it with this rematch plus stiff like #1 contendership matches and a UK Title match and have a quick turnaround set of tapings for Mania. Or maybe just try running one hour of NXT live at taping and do the Ciampa return there.cero2k wrote: ↑Jan 11th, '18, 14:42hmm maybe, wasn't sure if there was a takeover inbetween mania and rumble.
