Arn Anderson Has Been Let Go From WWE

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Arn Anderson has apparently been let go from WWE, this according to multiple sources.

Details are scarce, but multiple sources tell us Anderson — who is a WWE Hall of Famer, Four Horsemen and longtime backstage producer — exited the company on Thursday.

Arn joined WWE as a road agent not long after WCW was bought out in 2001. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012 alongside the other Four Horsemen.

It’s unclear at this time what led to Anderson’s departure from WWE.

Shame. I wish they'd have done more with Arn... especially with Carl Anderson on the roster, who's claimed to be a part of the lineage.

At 60 years old, he probably just wanted off the road.

with all those newer, younger, indie agents, old timer agents were likely getting let go eventually

It’s a shame. Whether he wanted it or not... but it is the circle of life.

Arn Anderson was released from WWE in February due to an incident at a live event with Alicia Fox.

Wrestling Inc. has confirmed with multiple sources that Anderson was fired because Fox showed up at a live event intoxicated. Anderson was the agent for her match and allowed her to perform. Vince McMahon was reportedly furious when he found out and it was the final straw.

Anderson had been working with WWE since WCW folded in 2001. He would occasionally appear in backstage segments and even got physical at the WWE Starrcade event in November of 2017, where he delivered his trademark spinebuster to Dolph Ziggler.

Fox's status is unclear. She was not backstage at RAW last week, and hasn't wrestled since the February 10th live event in Saginaw, Michigan, where she teamed with Mickie James and Nikki Cross in a losing effort to Bayley, Dana Brooke and Natalya. We have reached out to WWE, and will provide an update if we receive it.

That's an understandable reason for a firing. One would assume Fox will soon be given a choice of "go to rehab" or "pack up your sh*t."

Perfectly understandable.

Arn should have found a last minute replacement and sent Fox home followed by a full report to Vince McMahon. Instead he’s endangered Fox AND her opponent and risked scandal.

Makes you wonder how often these guys show up to work drunk if it was NBD to put her out there anyway...

Back before about 2005 (or maybe even later) it was NBD unless they were REALLY f*cked up (Jeff Hardy at Victory Road 2011 being the most famous recent example). Nowadays drug use is apparently way down so it doens't happen as much (if at all) anymore. When was the last time you heard about someone showing up in "no condition to perform" or even heard people talking seriously about someone possibly being drunk or high or otherwise f*cked up on the air in any company?

Jeff Hardy at Victory Road and "being intoxicated" are like a 9 versus a 3 on a scale of unprofessionalism. I'm just wondering how many times somebody showed up to a live event smelling like alcohol but was still deemed to be in a condition to perform? At most jobs you'd be sent home or terminated on the spot for showing up anything but sober... Arnie saying "if you think you're good, I think you're good..." tells me there has to be a grey area otherwise it'd be black and white.

Obviously not on the air, but it was a live event. Wouldn't surprise me if there was a bit of a "cat's away" mentality on the road without the brass around...

I mean...of all people...he probably just figured since it's "crazy Alicia Foxx"...people would just play it off as part of the gimmick and be none the wiser...
When they come, they'll come at what you love.

Both are unsafe for your opponent.

I'm not disputing that, nor am I defending Arn in any way. Alicia should be canned as well. I'm not a fan of "legal limits" when it comes to DUI's, and this is no different. It should be black and white, especially when it comes to work.

I'm just wondering how often this goes on if it wasn't a giant red flag. If this was the first time, or just the first time it made it to Vince.

before i heard this reason, i had heard that Vince and Arn had issues and that this was likely just an excuse to finally pull the plug on him. I find it hard to believe that Fox is the first one that has had an issue like this.
