Jim Ross is officially part of All Elite Wrestling.
AEW announced today that Ross has signed a three-year deal with the company and "will take on the role as Senior Advisor in what is the most lucrative deal in pro wrestling commentary history."
The press release announcing the news also stated that Ross will "work closely with the senior leaders at AEW on their roadmap to shift and reinvent the wrestling landscape."
Ross will appear at AEW Double or Nothing at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25. Sports Illustrated reported that he'll be calling the show.
“Helping create a new brand with AEW is heart-pounding,” Ross told Sports Illustrated. “I can’t wait to prepare. I’ve always believed I had some gas left in the tank, and today I believe it more than ever. I can’t wait to get started with this fresh and vibrant new company. Business is about to pick up.”
March 29 was the final day of Ross' contract with WWE. He returned to WWE in 2017 but was used increasingly sparingly over the past two years.
Ross appeared on this week's Road to Double or Nothing episode, which also announced that Alex Marvez and Excalibur will be commentators for AEW. Alicia Atout, who recently departed Impact Wrestling, will be AEW's backstage correspondent. Justin Roberts will be their ring announcer.

Re: Jim Ross signs three-year deal with All Elite Wrestling (and more AEW Braodcast Team News)
good thing, especially with that 'advisor' tag
Alex Marvez and Excalibur will be commentators for AEW. Alicia Atout will be AEW’s backstage correspondent. Justin Roberts will be AEW’s ring announcer.
Jim Ross who has signed as Senior Advisor will likely do commentary as well, whether that be every match or only on special occasions remains to be seen.

Ross and Cody making decisions together is not a proposition I find exciting at all.

No, but he's a "senior advisor." And I'm not crazy about the Bucks decision-making, either, though I think they're miles better than Cody.cero2k wrote: ↑Apr 3rd, '19, 14:28that's ok, Ross ain't making decisions, and it's not just Cody eitherBig Red Machine wrote: ↑Apr 3rd, '19, 13:55 Ross and Cody making decisions together is not a proposition I find exciting at all.

Is there anyone in that company that you care for their decision making?Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Apr 3rd, '19, 15:29No, but he's a "senior advisor." I like the Bucks when they're not being overly self-indulgent and putting in some spot to try to send a shoot message.cero2k wrote: ↑Apr 3rd, '19, 19:16Is there anyone in that company that you care for their decision making?Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Apr 3rd, '19, 15:29No, but he's a "senior advisor." Re: Jim Ross signs three-year deal with All Elite Wrestling (and more AEW Braodcast Team News)
Jim Ross is a good acquisition because you can use him for the big matches to give them a big match feel and once you find some weekly platform, you can bring him out for PPV's only to help enhance the product.
As for him being an advisor, that's not a bad thing, he's held some big positions in the two biggest wrestling promotions to ever exist, so he definitely has experience to offer.
It doesn't even say what he'll be advising on.. could be talent only, could be commentary only, could be creative only, could be all three. I'm sure more will come out.

Yeah. Rumor has it Page is going to become one, too, because they need a Vice President of Keeping Track of Vice Presidents.

That piece of shit Page should not vice-president anything.
AEW is a partially exciting prospect, but I will not willingly watch any company that employs those fuckwits Joey Ryan or Kenny Omega. Particularly Joey Ryan that stupid sack of shit with his brand of crap wrestling and his stupid fucking dickspot wrestling moves. Especially if any of them are having a say on the company.
Have A Nice Day!

Re: Jim Ross signs three-year deal with All Elite Wrestling (and more AEW Braodcast Team News)
"Shit ass" is actually one word...
Son...

Re: Jim Ross signs three-year deal with All Elite Wrestling (and more AEW Braodcast Team News)
You've literally defeated your own logic by writing "Shit ass" as two words instead of combining it as you say it should be spelled.
Just saying.
But it's totally two singular words.
Son..
Have A Nice Day!
Re: Jim Ross signs three-year deal with All Elite Wrestling (and more AEW Braodcast Team News)
Get out of here ! I'm simply quoting his saying it as two words incorrectly.
Son.....
....
It's something my grandfather would often say actually...he always used it as one, kind of like "jackals"...
When they come, they'll come at what you love.
