In a statement Monday, NJ Transit blamed WWE for the massive delays in getting people home following WrestleMania Sunday night in East Rutherford.
"The primary factor contributing to the post-event delays was the WWE’s decision to extend the event to 12:30 a.m., which had significant operational impacts on the evening. NJ Transit was not informed of this decision until late last night," spokesman Jim Smith said.
Federal regulations prohibit NJ Transit employees from working overtime to staff additional trains.
Sunday was the first time WWE has run MetLife Stadium for WrestleMania since 2013. The event was the highest grossing in stadium history at $16.9 million beating the 2013 Mania.
When asked about the situation Monday, Governor Phil Murphy said it was unacceptable and vowed to fix the problems that have plagued transportation out of the stadium for big events like the 2014 Super Bowl.
Fans complained about waiting for hours to leave MetLife Stadium with thousands of fans waiting for Uber rides until the early hours of Monday morning.
WWE released a general statement to media Monday: "We regret any inconveniences fans may have experienced with mass transportation after the event.” It's unclear if the event lasted longer than expected.

Bullsh*t. WWE just didn't care. It probably never even entered their minds that making the show go so long would make it harder for people to get home. All they care about is getting to brag to their investors about this bullsh*t number of average hours of the Network that subscribers watch per month, which they make these shows go hours longer than necessary to artificially inflate.

First of all, it ended at twelve fucking thirty, either way that statement is hilarious.
Vince: "Time flies when you're having fun ok, Pal!? I look at the clock and it's 10:15pm, we've got 4 matches left, but I'm feeling good, with some creative time management we could still wrap up at 11:15-11:30 tops. Next thing I know I'm getting word that fans are tweeting from the upper levels as if they're being held hostage, requesting air drops and shit, and concessions workers at MetLife are crying. Holy shit, I said, it's almost twelve thirty! It's MONDAY now! I said if I had my way we'd take it strait into RAW dammit, could you imagine!? We'll just have those girls fight on a bus all the way over to Barclays! But nobody can take a joke and Girl Brock broke something on herself, so I told them to have the girls take it home early..."

my impression from today's WOR is that Rey vs Joe did get their time cut

Re: NJ Transit blames WWE for post-WrestleMania travel delays
With word going that Brock/Seth got moved to the opener, I have a feeling that it got cut as well. Brock matches usually go longer with guys like Seth...
It sounds silly to say they cut time off the opener, but Fin's match with Lesnar was longer than that. It felt rushed and not at all what I was expecting.
