Impact Wrestling to cover all talents hotel expenses going forward

Source: PWInsider

Impact Wrestling is now covering hotel costs for talents on the road, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.

Impact had covered costs of hotels for talent while in Mexico but for events in the United States and Canada, talent had been covering their own hotels. Management had told talents back in May it was something the company was working on doing as a way to give back to the locker room by absorbing some of the financial burden of talents' road expenses. This would be the first time since Anthem Media took over the company that such a perk has been offered.

The hotels will be covered going forward as of next week's TV Tapings in Las Vegas and all signs are that this will be a new, consistent policy for Impact on the road.

There's potential for money savings here and this could prove to be a shrewd business move.

You can theoretically pay a talent less money up front and write hotel fees into contracts, and then you can contact hotels in cities you're going to and get decent rates for booking a lot of rooms.

If they're doing this on top of contracts, then they're very nice, but they're stupid.

It's not stupid to do it as an extra. There is a bidding war for talent from a ton of promotions, they may not be able to compete with WWE or AEW money wise, but perks like this is the type of stuff that wrestlers will look at. This could be the difference between signing with ROH/MLW and Impact

I often forget that TNA have slipped down the pecking order and that companies like MLW and ROH are their competition financially now.
