Unless they're some faction or something, I just assumed it was people who who get big because something goes viral. Like Joey Ryan penis stuff. Which started in and got attention because of PWG.

close, but not exactly, the meme wrestlers are those that have been getting over now a days because of their one schtick thing and them spamming it on every show every social media. See your Danhausens, Warhorses, Dan The Dad, Allie Kat

Joey Ryan did something and it went viral without him being directly involved, there's still some respect to happening like that, but Danhausen and Warhorse, as famous as they've become, they've never really been viral organically.

I guess Ryan could qualify as such to a certain point, but don't forget that the whole penis thing started in DDT, not PWG. In PWG he was just a sleazy guy ( and also in real life )

They didn't book many prior to the pandemic, Orange Cassidy getting 3 bookings is as close as it got, so I am making the assumption based on the last several years of Super Dragon not going for talent like that. I am curious to see if he changes his mind now that names like Effy, MV Young, or even Nick Gage have become so popular, without actually being that good in the ring.

Gage is at least a good promo, though, and does what he does well. Obviously I'd rather see Lee Moriarty get the spot, but I wouldn't be upset at Gage getting the spot.

It's also worth considering that they'll have access to the AEW roster and they may want to put more money into some of that talent than just getting some indie darlings
