JEFF HARDY RELEASED BY WWE

Jeff Hardy has been released by WWE, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

No other details are known as the time of this writing. Sapp said that he was told "WWE offered Jeff Hardy help and rehab and it was not accepted."

Hardy was sent home following a WWE house show event in Edinburg, Texas, where he was teaming with Xavier Woods and Drew McIntyre against Roman Reigns and The Usos. After working most of the match, reports were that Hardy got more sluggish as the match went on and following a hot tag to McIntyre, he left through the crowd and didn't return.

He was replaced by Rey Mysterio on Sunday's house show in Corpus Christi, Texas. He had most recently been on the November 26th SmackDown in a battle royal for a WWE Universal title shot, getting eliminated last by winner Sami Zayn.

His brother, Matt, said this week that he had spoken with Jeff and that he was at home and doing okay.

The 44-year-old was in his third run with the company after returning with Matt in a surprise at WrestleMania in 2017. Hardy has run afoul of the law several times, spending ten days in jail in 2011 for a 2009 drug bust and arrest for trafficking controlled prescription pills.

He was arrested for public intoxication in July 2019 and in October 2019, he was arrested and charged with DUI in North Carolina.

I'd say that it could be a bad move to release someone who seemed to be having some heavy mental problems, but I think that being in the WWE to begin with was part of those mental problems.

Nah. He was the same in TNA. He seems good for a while, then relapses.

if that's the case, then just send the dude to rehab or whatever, it's not like he's getting arrested like the Uso

I'm not sure forcing someone to check into rehab is the right way to go, even if that person 100% needs it.

Jeff should just retire while he's still able to walk quite frankly : he's basically a middle-aged guy with a family who's been eating crazy bump after crazy bump for almost thirty years at this point and if his body can't take it anymore without drugs, well it's time to hang them up and find something else to do, which could very well be the issue since he and Matt have been wrestling since they were teenagers. I mean, what could he possibly do that is new and fresh? A billionth (and sad) Hardy Boyz reunion in AEW? Going back to Impact? Something even lower like MLW or NWA (or ROH)?

WWE had no choice. Think of sponsors, investors, being publicly traded etc, they wouldn’t want a repeat of TNA fiasco. I’m with WWE on this one, go to rehab, or find new employment.

Don’t expect AEW to pick him up any time soon either, Turner Networks have a history of not wanting those kinds of wrestlers about. They effectively ended Tully Blanchard’s wrestling career over it as they made sure his big contract offer was pulled after a drug test failure.
Have A Nice Day!

It's a bit different here since AEW is a mere content provider for WarnerMedia and not actually part of the group like WCW was. Khan will probably play it safe anyway considering they're being jerked around whenever "real" sports is on and the flagship show is bumped down to a lesser network in a few weeks, but I wouldn't rule it out entirely. They have enough """shocking""" debuts for a while, but that will run out eventually.

A Jeff Hardy debut or reunion with Matt only gets a short term buzz, there’s nothing at this point that makes Jeff a must sign, except the fact his brother is in the company. But I would hope Tony Khan is smarter than that and just leaves it for now.
Have A Nice Day!
