Will The Miz Retain the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 27?

Post by Rabid619 » Mar 12th, '11, 08:52

Since he cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase in November, one way or another The Miz has defeated all his challengers and kept his title. He's the longest reigning WWE Champion in the past 2 years. At WrestleMania 27, he faces John Cena with his title on the line once again. Will The Miz keep his title or will there be a new WWE Champion?

No, this is the kind of match that is perfectly set up for Cena to win.

As much as I don't want another WWE title reign for Cena, he's WAY more deserving than Miz...

I'm seeing it oppositely. I think this is the kind of match that is perfectly set up for Cena to lose. Cena doesn't lose clean ever, we know that. Rock could very well cause him to lose somehow.

Also, thinking of The Big Picture, WWE is in desperate need of top tier talent. Miz's reign is getting lengthy, but if the Road To Wrestlemania has shown us anything, it's that Miz is NOT anywhere close to the level of Cena or Rock. He's an afterthought. A "Wrestlemania Moment" for Miz wouldn't elevate him immediately, but it'd help!

I voted for Miz to win. I think this match will end via DQ and afterwards Rock will come down, deal with Miz (maybe him and Cena) and then pave way for the Rock/Cena showdown. I hope they don't have a physical confrontation before Mania because if their first physical exchange happens at Mania then everyone will go crazy and will be exciting beyond belief!!

I'm with Bob-O on this one, this one's for Miz. WWE needs a different champion other than Cena or Orton, and Miz has been great so far.

I think Cena will win. I think it is possible for the Rock to do Cena a favor and deliver a Rock Bottom on the Miz. This would certainly be a twist from what we've witnessed but could also add spice to a future Cena/Rock match.

If Miz beats Cena clean then it will be a HUGE tragedy in WWE...

This. I know that heels need to get some clean wins every once in a while, but I think that Miz is an exception, for now. I would have his first clean win come when he is a position where he absolutely HAS to win cleanly. Something like a cage match w/pinfalls. It just isn't possible for someone to help him, so he has to fend for himself... and he manages to do it. This would actually be a genius way to transition his character away from the "always needs to cheat to win" heel, as he is so arrogant that he will get rid of Riley. He realizes that he doesn't need Riley anymore, because he is The Miz, and he is awesome. Not "The Miz with Alex Riley's help"... just The Miz.

Problem is... what in the heck was WWE thinking even making Miz the WWE champion... I could think of at least 10 people in WWE WAY more deserving: Punk, Barrett, Ziggler, Regal, Morrison, McGillicuty, Husky Harris, Daniel Bryan, JErry Lawler, R-Truth, Chavo Guerrero, Christian... need I go on?

What is it with people and this "more deserving" BS? It pisses me off SO much. You don't get a belt just because you have been there for a while, and might not have had one before! You get a belt because the company sees something special in you. You strike when the iron is hot. Look at Hero and Tornado in PWG, or Austin Aries in ROH (or even Cena's first run in WWE). Or a more recent case in point: Eddie Edwards. Just like the reaction on Saturday completely disproves anyone's complaints that Eddie "isn't over enough," the reactions that he got make it impossible to deny that the crowd HATES Miz, and for all of the right reasons.

Problem is... people like me hate Miz because of how ridiculous he is... how WWE puts him over people who are obviously WAY more over than he is... much like the WWE screwed over RVD most of his tenure there...

1. What makes you think he is ridiculous?

2. Who is more over than Miz, at the moment?

I think the Miz is selling as a heel world champion incredibly well. This Miz train is revving higher with each and every program and should not be stopped at this time.

That's three babyfaces and an announcer. Miz is the most over heel in the WWE right now.

THIS, playing the beatable champ against someone like Lawler and then turning into the "I get under your skin" and "I keep getting the upper hand" champ against Cena. this is being played out nicely

No more than ever, Rock will be playing a factor into this match. There are a few scenarios that could go down after what happened on RAW.
