FCW Title History and Where Are They Now

Post by Bob-O » Jan 19th, '11, 21:10

In case there's anyone that doesn't know, the latest incarnation of Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) is WWE's developmental territory. Let's have a look at their past champions, the "Best of the Rookies", and see how they've done since getting called up to the Main Roster...

Image
1. Jake Hager (Jack Swagger) 2/15/08 - 9/18/08
Currently feuding over the IC Title on the Smackdown brand. After being called up Jack saw a dominant run as ECW World Heavyweight Champion and won The World Heavyweight Championship after cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase.

2. Sheamus O'Shaunessy (Sheamus) 9/18/08 - 12/11/08
Currently the reigning King of the Ring. A Main Eventer on the RAW Brand, Sheamus is a two time WWE Heavyweight Champion.

3. Eric Escobar 12/11/08 - 2/26/09
Released from WWE on 1/17/10. Escobar was called up to the Smackdown brand and was booked in a higher profile angle with Vickie Guerrero, but saw no titles.

4. Joe Hennig (Micheal McGillicutty) 2/26/09 - 4/19/09
Currently in CM Punk's Nexus on the Raw brand. Hennig was in the final two of NXT Season 2, ultimately losing to Kaval.

5. Drew McIntire 4/19/09 - 6/11/09
Currently in the Upper Midcard on Smackdown. Vince McMahon's "Chosen One" has seen 1 IC Title reign and 1 Unified Tag Team Title reign in a makeshift tandem with Cody Rhodes.

6. Tyler Reks 6/11/09 - 8/18/09
Currently in Smackdown obscurity. Sporadically used on WWECW shows, and saw a recent push in an effort to make him credible enough to be on Smackdown's Bragging Rights team.

7. Heath Slater 8/13/09 - 9/24/09
Currently aligned with Wade Barrett's stable on Smackdown. Slater was called up to be a part of NXT Season 1, and was involved with the original Nexus. He had a short Tag Team Title run with fellow Nexus member Justin Gabriel.

8. Justin Gabriel 9/24/09 - 3/18/10
See: Heath Slater

9. Alex Riley 3/18/10 - 7/22/10
Currently the "Assistant" to WWE Heavyweight Champion The Miz. Riley was introduced on NXT Season 2, and had a very strong showing. He finished 3rd.

10. Mason Ryan 7/22/10 - 2/3/11
Made his debut on Raw last week, taking out John Cena and aligning himself with CM Punk's Nexus.

Image
11. Bo Rotundo 2/3/11 - 2/3/11
The brother of Husky Harris, Bo Rotundo won and lost the title in the same night. His name has floated around as a potential NXT Rookie, but he's yet to appear on WWE TV.

12. Lucky Cannon 2/3/11 - 5/19/11
An FCW favorite, Lucky failed to impress anyone during his stint on NXT Season 2.

13. Bo Rotundo 5/19/11 - Present (2x Champion)

I guess they are making sure that their title lineage only includes those who will definitely move on to one of the main rosters...

Although it's too early to say for some of those people, it seems that the FCW Title dosen't exactly mean they're set for success! But then again that's kinda evident
