BRM Reviews the 11/29/2011 Smackdown

Post by Big Red Machine » Nov 29th, '11, 20:01

OPENING STUFF- It’s Mick Foley hosting a holiday show. What did you expect?

CODY RHODES & BOOKER T SEGMENT- Good. Booker T seemed reluctant to take the match.

MISSILETOE MATCH- no rating. This will probably go somewhere with them and Del Rio, which is something that they have needed to actually pay off for a while.

JINDER MAHAL PROMO- good.

JINDER MAHAL vs. JUSTIN GABRIEL- 2.25/10.

BACKSTAGE PARTY SEGMENT- eh. I am, however, forever in the debt of one Dusty Rhodes, for getting Hornswoggle off of my screen. I will admit that I popped for Otunga’s schtick.

CODY RHODES JUMPS BOOKER T- good

KOFI KINGSTON vs. TYSON KID- 4/10.

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET FIGHT: Randy Orton vs. David Otunga- 6.25/10

MARK HENRY BUMPS INTO TEDDY LONG BACKSTAGE- Good. Good promo by Henry, too.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS BATTLE ROYALE: 4/10 No starpower in this match at all. The second biggest star in this match… was EZEKIEL JACKSON... who hasn’t been on TV in months (or maybe Dibiase). And the finish absolutely disgusted me.

SANTA GIVES HORNSWOGGLE THE POWER TO TALK- If they wanted to do this right, they would have had Santa give Hornswoggle that thing that X-Pac gave Kane back in 2000.

DRAGON PROMO- Great!

STEEL CAGE MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Mark Henry(c) vs. Daniel Bryan- 8/10. They made a believer out of me at the end there. 8/10!

Overall, a bad show saved my an awesome main event.

I'm gonna guess (after reading the live topic and this one comment)... somebody still loves Christmas.

I found this enjoyable. Not awesome, but enjoyable.

I was laughing my a** off at Randy and Otunga.

that makes no sense. Kane's inability to speak was do to his supposed injuries from being burned; plus, X Pac took that thing AWAY from Kane and convinced Kane he could speak WITHOUT it. I don't remember them ever saying exactly why Hornswoggle couldn't talk.

Yeah, that's how it went down. Kane's first words without the gizmo were SUCK IT. Thus began the end of the Big Red Monster.
