Did You Know... David Otunga
is not only legitimately a lawyer, but he also has a Bachelors in Psychology and worked in a cognitive neuroscience center?
Can't say I know anything about his supposed 23-0 victory rate in court though.

You know... I thought that was just a gimmick..
At least he has something he can fall back on if Jennifer Hudson future endeavours him.

I knew about the former, but not the latter.
He's got great options.

That's what I thought! If he does all those things I can't help but wonder why he's wrestling, especially since he has no talent or charisma... Seriously, neuroscience?Verdun wrote:I knew about the former, but not the latter.

I knew this; sadly bc I watched some of VH1's I Love New York 2 and there was an episode where all the guys had to show their "worth" to her and he mentioned his degree and his job.
Crazy that he started off trying to woo the black Ms. Piggy and ended up catching Jennifer Hudson; talk about a step up!

I assume he wants to live a personal dream. If you were in his shoes, you'd at least try.Serujuunin wrote:That's what I thought! If he does all those things I can't help but wonder why he's wrestling, especially since he has no talent or charisma... Seriously, neuroscience?

And I would, but he's been around for a while and not gone anywhere...Verdun wrote:I assume he wants to live a personal dream. The only thing that's stopping me from trying right now is that I know I have no athletic talent. So I know that trying won't get me anywhere. You'd think as a lawyer/psychologist he'd be smart enough to figure that out for himself too.

Unless he's happy being Assistant to the GM. Then all power to him.

Re: Did You Know... David Otunga

When they come, they'll come at what you love.

and he hasn't been there very long; he's arguably the third most relevant of the original NXT crew; maybe even ahead of your boy Justin Gabriel, seru :p

That's not because he's better in the ring than Justin though.badnewzxl wrote:and he hasn't been there very long; he's arguably the third most relevant of the original NXT crew; maybe even ahead of your boy Justin Gabriel, seru :p

Yeah, Otunga's been part of a few different angles, but he's usually just tagged along, if you've noticed. Been in the right place at the right time sort of thing. He's not particularly good in the ring or on the mic, and he just looks WEIRD. His pecs look like implants. o_O
Re: Did You Know... David Otunga
lol, I'll give you that. I still dislike him, but at least he has a direction now; he's not just bland anymore. That's the only thing he's really got over Gabriel but it's huge right now. If WWE knew how to develop a face talent, guys like Gabriel, Riley, etc would be well established on the main roster by now. They often do a pretty damn good job characterizing their heels; just look at how many guys got over big as heels last year: Miz, Henry, Christian, Del Rio, Truth, Rhodes, Ziggler, Barrett, and Laurenitis. How many faces: Ryder, Sheamus, Punk, and Dragon.Serujuunin wrote:That's not because he's better in the ring than Justin though.badnewzxl wrote:and he hasn't been there very long; he's arguably the third most relevant of the original NXT crew; maybe even ahead of your boy Justin Gabriel, seru :p

Re: Did You Know... David Otunga
I totally agree with you. But sometimes I think it's easier building a heel; just have them annoy/belittle the fans, and there you have it, instant heel. Some do it better than others and some get more heat than others, but you're still a heel. Faces are a bit more difficult, you have to build character. It seems the WWE has a bit of an issue doing that. Which is sad. If I were a writer, I could easily think of something to do with Riley or Gabriel, or whomever else needed a push. There's lots of room on RAW and Smackdown for everyone, they just need to cut the unnecessary talking.badnewzxl wrote:lol, I'll give you that. Anyway, enough of my rant. My basic point here is this; as much as I don't like Otunga as a wrestler, this recent information coming out about him (at least to me), makes it really hard for me to dislike him as a person.
