In the midst of AW being released, I wanna bring to the table, Wrestling's most shocking releases ever. What release do you consider the most shocking out of nowhere.

What release shocked you the most??

Mr. Kennedy/Anderson.

I thought for sure he'd be a franchise guy for WWE.

Brett Hart if that counts. Technically speaking, he was released from a long term contract. If I thought anyone was a WWE Lifer, it was Brett.

If he doesn't, then the sudden release of Daniel Bryan after the Nexus invasion.

I'm thinking of all the guys that left WWF in '92 when they started testing for drugs...

Got to be Dragon's. It was just something so small that you would never in a million years have guessed someone would be released for.

none of them were fired, were they?

I equate "future endevoured" with being fired.

If we're talking about anyone who's left WWE: Kurt Angle and Batista were the most shocking, imo.

Kurt Angle. He was an attraction at WWE shows for years, I thought he would have been there forever.

Even AWs release was kind of shocking. I understand the joke he made was in bad taste, but it was still just a joke. I bet most people didn't even know what he said until they read it on the interwebs (I know I didn't hear it when he originally said it).

I know it's not WWE but I have to say the one that struck me the most has been ROH letting Austin Aries go. Probably the dumbest move from a wrestling company in the last few years. At least WWE brought Danielson back.

If I remember correctly, Aries was supposedly a problem in the locker room. All of the other guys let go at that same time (Necro, Daivari, Erick Stevens) were budgetary, but I remember reading that Aries, specifically, was a problem.
