I was watching some old PWG shows and got curious, because most of the shows I watched started with a member of the PWG 6 in the first match. So I did some research and some calculations.
From 2003 till the end of 2007, out of 81 shows, 58% of the shows started with a match including at least one of the PWG 6.
From 2008 till now, out of 53 shows, only 9% of the shows started with a match including at least one of the PWG 6.

I think that a lot of that has to do with activity. Most of them retired by 2008. I'm pretty sure that, by the end of 2008, Joey Ryan was the only one still active.yourcrapsweak wrote:I was watching some old PWG shows and got curious, because most of the shows I watched started with a member of the PWG 6 in the first match. did not know this, but from what brm said, it makes sense, plus i would imagine that pwg was building their card around them during the first years

BRM is exactly right. Although, I wouldn't really say PWG built their early cards around the PWG Six. Most of these matches I'm talking about are Excalibur, Disco Machine, and Topgun Talwar, and they were never really the focus of the shows (especially Topgun Talwar lol).RedSon wrote:did not know this, but from what brm said, it makes sense, plus i would imagine that pwg was building their card around them during the first years

I'm sure he did! There had to have been a reason why he was in so many openers. I would be too if I had his gimmick.Big Red Machine wrote:I actually heard somewhere that Talwar like being in the opener.yourcrapsweak wrote:BRM is exactly right.
