BRM Reviews Honor Takes Center Stage, Chapter 1

ROH Honor Takes Center Stage: Chapter 1 (4/1/2011)- Atlanta, GA

EL GENERICO vs. MICHAEL ELGIN- 6.5/10. This was just a great opener. The fans were very into it. It felt very old-school, which just fit the venue perfectly. Dirty finish leads to mystery as to who the masked man was (although I started to mark out for an Age of the Fall return before realizing that wasn’t what was going to be happening).

FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL MATCH: Colt Cabana vs. Caleb Conley (w/Truth Martini) vs. Tomasso Ciampa (w/The Embassy) vs. Homicide- 5.75/10 Fun match that showed off everyone involved.
Great post match stuff with the House of Truth.

SARA DEL REY & SERENA DEEB vs. HIROYO MATSUMOTO & AYUMI KURIHARA- 6/10. Deeb pretty much looked like a punk in this match. All of her offense was countered, which I didn’t like.
The post match stuff was good, as it gave us a reason to care about one team over the other. Also, between her hair and now spitting on someone, this further fueled my suspicions that Kurihara is MsChif's Japanese cousin.

THE BRISCOE BROTHERS vs. ADAM COLE & KYLE O’REILLY- 7.75/10 (just barely). This was a breakout match for Cole & O’Reilly as a team. Great action. The aftermath was good as well, although I would have booked this differently.
GREAT post match brawl! Yeah, we all saw it coming, but it was still awesome.

DAVEY RICHARDS vs. RODERICK STRONG (w/Truth Martini)- 9.25/10. SH*T! This is my MOTY so far!

ROH WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli)(c) (w/Shane Hagadorn & Sara Del Rey) vs. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin- 8.75/10

ROH WORLD TITLE MATCH: Eddie Edwards(c) vs. Christopher Daniels- 8.5/10.
Daniels refusing to shake hands afterwards was great.

Kelly and Prazak say that a world title has only changed hands in Atlanta once, and cite Dusty’s win in 1981. They really need to do their research better, because two that popped into my head right away were the Fingerpoke of Doom and Goldberg beating Hogan.

Overall, a GREAT show, with a great crowd. ROH definitely delivered tonight. I can’t wait for tomorrow!

Does Bound For Glory 2007 when Sting beat Kurt Angle for the TNA World Title count?

That one counts, too. It just didn't pop into my head right away because I didn't remember that it was in Atlanta. It does certainly explain why they changed the title just to change it back two days later, though.
