Total Divas Cast Change

Post by Big Red Machine » Dec 21st, '14, 18:49

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

The decision was made to drop Jonathan and Trinity Fatu (Jimmy Uso and Naomi) from Total Divas as we’d written about earlier. Once they got married, there really wasn’t anything they could do since they broke up Trinity and Ariane as best friends and all the married couples problems storylines would be taken up by the other married couples. Fox and Paige are added to next season’s cast and Summer Rae was also dropped.

I will freely admit that I posted this piece of news solely for the chance to complain, but I think it shows a ridiculous lack of both creative ability and understanding of human nature to assume that because people are married, they can't be interesting or entertaining unless they are having marital problems.
I haven't seen much of Total Divas, but of what I have seen, Jimmy and Naomi have been BY FAR the two most entertaining characters, and most of those moments have come not as a result of the stories created by the writers, but as a result of sticking two entertaining people together in a situation.
Why can't a married couple being HAPPY together be entertaining and interesting?
Because these two are entertaining without being in the writers' stories, and these writes have no idea how to write an entertaining "reality" show, and so the people who "creative" had nothing for like Jimmy, Naomi, and Summer (and let's not forget JoJo while we're at it) had to go.

I thought she was dropped because she is becoming a movie actress

That wouldn't make sense. That's the sort of thing that both WWE and E! would love.
