NXT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Lucha Dragons(c) vs. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy- 4.5/10
WHAT THE F*CK?! How the hell did Blake and Murphy wind up as the tag team champions? As near as I can figure, their entire gimmick is that they’re vanilla and bland! I don’t think that they cut a combined total of more than five promos so far. They don’t even have any signature moves, never mind a finisher!


BAYLEY & CHARLOTTE BACKSTAGE- Charlotte vows to destroy Bayley. I didn’t hear the rest of the segment because I was too busy daydreaming about Charlotte marching around the ring proudly displaying Bayley’s head on a pike.

TYLER BREEZE PROMO- he doesn’t seem to care at all about losing in the #1 contendership tournament, which completely buries the tournament, and by extension the title.

NXT TITLE #1 CONTENDERSHIP TOURNAMENT: Tyson Kidd vs. Adrian Neville- 8/10
There was some sort of test-pattern-ish funky interruption in the feed type of deal, but it didn’t fully interrupt things. I thought I saw the word “solution” and some sort of Matrix-like field of zeros and ones. I’ve decided to pretend that this was those “Knights of the Rising Dawn” doing the same type of “interruption in the feed” deal in ROH right now, but the WWE Network has a stronger signal or better security or whatever, so they couldn’t cut in. That seems sufficiently amusing.
Once that silliness was over, we could get to this awesome match!

ADRIAN NEVILLE PROMO- just as awesome as the match itself.

BECKY & SASHA PROMO- okay.

BLAKE & MURPHY PROMO- not bad. Apparently they’re Australian. We know so little about them that I didn’t even know that.

SASHA BANKS & BECKY LYNCH vs. CHARLOTTE & BAYLEY- 4.5/10
Becky doing her entrance to Sasha’s music was pure comedy gold. It was all good until the ref just threw the match out. He didn’t even try to regain control first. The focus of this was Charlotte vs. Bayley, so that might be where they’re heading next.

FINN BALOR & HIDEO ITAMI BAKSTAGE- good, aside from the part where Itami said that he was the one who brought Balor to NXT. So he has the power to hire people? I’m calling BS on that.

WRESTLEMANIA COMMERCIAL- what an AWFUL song.

EMMA PROMO- she’s back on NXT starting next week. And she’s having a rematch against Carmella.

NXT TITLE #1 CONTENDERSHIP TOURNAMENT: Baron Corbin vs. Bull Dempsey- 1/10
Didn’t I just see this two weeks ago?

BARON CORBIN PROMO- pretty good. Then Bully Dempsey came up to him and said that Corbin has gotten lucky twice and threatened to knock his teeth out. Corbin made Dempsey look like a punk. I assume this is setting up Dempsey screwing Corbin out of the tournament so that they can have yet another short, bad match against each other. Oh goody. I can’t wait.

ZAYN-OWENS CONTRACT SIGNING- great
Regal warns them that if they touch each other, he will cancel the match. Both guys were great. Now it’s a title match!

Tensai is terrible. They need to get him out of the commentary booth immediately.

What character? She's a heel. That's it.

She's a headbanging rock chick, that's her character. By that I mean that seems like the way her personality comes across; she doesn't have a gimmick like Emma whose thing is that she dances around. I'm a much bigger fan of characters (whom come off as legit people) than gimmicks (which are usually something to help you remember an otherwise forgettable performer). I guess I'm just saying Becky has pure charisma while Sasha Banks just has a gimmick where she's arrogant. A lot of times Sashas Mic work makes me doubt she believes what she's saying; Becky seems sincere in everything she does.

I see what you're saying. They haven't really played the headbanging thing up at all. It just came across to me as something that she did when she got rid of the Irish dancing. I just saw her as generic. Which isn't a problem. There need to be more people who are just wrestlers with a personality.

Amen. I was glad when guys like Fandango and Brodus Clay got gimmicks bc they made themselves into completely new characters. Cody has done the same thing with the Stardust character; it doesn't seem like they just gave him something to do, he comes off as a totally different entity. On the other hand, you have the New Day which doesn't come across as new, intriguing characters but instead come off as bland wrestlers with a lame-ass gimmick
