TNA/Wrestle 1 Relationship Done?, Sanada's Future

Post by Big Red Machine » Mar 26th, '15, 19:14

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

The relations between this group and TNA have somewhat fallen through. It came on the Wrestle-1 side, as once they signed Tajiri and his former promotion guys, they didn't need any foreigners, plus the company was losing money and bringing in guys from TNA wasn't economically worth it. The idea of doing so was to look major league to the public, but the company was losing money trying to live up to the perception. As far as Seiya Sanada goes, he's under contract to TNA through the summer.

so is Wrestle-1 folding, or just don't want to do relations anymore?

They don't want to continue the relationship. It was costing them too much money to fly in TNA guys, it wasn't helping them appear more major league, and now that they have Tajiri's guys, they have enough people to fill out a card without outside help.

this is just an excuse to cut ties, they only did one show together over in japan, it's not like they're flying in guys every week.

They did at least one One Night Only show, and they did BFG, plus they were probably using other guys, too because TNA was taping so infrequently.
If they wanted cut ties because they were angry, they would have done it over the Muta-Sanada X-Division Title debacle, or the portrayal of Joe as X-Division Champ at BFG.

i'm sure that TNA had to pay for the ONO and BFG trips, wreslte-1 at most helped out with the actual show expense. I don't necessarily think they're breaking because they're angry or anything, i'm sure that it's just W-1 not seeing any value in TNA today and likely wanna cut ties so they can work with someone else. This is the civil excuse to break ties and not look like the bad guys

They probably at least had to pay the TNA guys for working the ONO show (which was a live PPV in Japan, and then the second half of it was turned into the ONO show), and they probably had to pay for anyone they were using on an exclusively Wrestle-1 show.

That's what I said. If they were going to break because they were angry, they would have done it last Summer or fall.
They realized the TNA guys weren't worth it to them financially, then waited a polite amount of time after the Muta Anniversary Show in November so that it didn't like they were using TNA and then kicking them to the curb.

Yes. They've used Matt Hardy, Robbie, Jesse, Zema Ion, Tigre Uno, Eddie Edwards, EC III, Spud, Davey Richards, Rob Terry, and possibly others in shows whose results weren't the ones I randomly clicked on.
