JASON JORDAN & CHAD GABLE vs. STEVE CUTLER & ELIAS SAMPSON- good squash
There has to be some sort of amusing team name out there for Jordan & Gable. They hit a really cool finisher. Jordan was very happy with his new tag team partner.

SAMOA JOE vs. A NAMELESS JOBBER- squash

BARON CORBIN VIDEO PACKAGE- AWESOME
Also, a much-needed heel-turn, even if it does seem like this “I won a zillion Superbowls” thing is coming out of nowhere.

EVA MARIE PROMO- started off wooden but got better as she went on.

SAWYER FULTON & ANGELO DAWKINS vs. WESLEY BLAKE & BUDDY MURPHY (w/Alexa Bliss)- another squash, even more boring than the two that proceeded it.
But at least I got to see Alexa Bliss.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- Alexa wants them to beat the jobbers up some more, so they do. She’s cute even when she’s being evil. She then did a Sparkle Splash springing off Blake and Murphy’s hands like a cheerleader rather than off the top turnbuckle. Also, it just occurred to me that we now have a heel with a finisher called the “Sparkle Splash.”

SAMI ZAYN MEDICAL UPDATE- AWESOME!
The sad news is that he probably won’t be back this year. The good news is that they are already setting up for Zayn vs. Owens on the main roster!

COMICON PANEL STUFF- I get that they want to announce the title match on the next Takeover special, but this whole time all I could think was that this was time that could have gone to the main event.

NXT WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH: Sasha Banks(c) vs. Charlotte- 8/10
Awesome match.
I didn’t like Charlotte doing her father’s mannerisms. That never gets anyone anywhere (see: Dibiase Jr., Ted). If you want to let us know that she’s Ric’s daughter, JUST CALL HER “CHARLOTTE FLAIR.”
Maybe it’s because of what happened on Raw, but this match really felt like it had a degree of finality about it. The problem is that this is the match that should have happened at Takeover.
Quite frankly: I don’t think there is anyone who is currently ready for that belt. Bailey and Becky have the talent but aren’t in position to get the belt and won’t be able to get there in time.
Sasha should have gone back on her word and they could have used that to set up Sasha vs. Charlotte for the Takeover special with Charlotte having to put her NXT career on the line in order to get the title shot.

Between the awesome main event and the awesome Sami Zayn promo and the awesome video packages, I’ll give them a pass for the squash-filled undercard (and the fact that one of those squashes had Alexa Bliss and the other one had the long-awaited debut of Jordan & Gable didn’t hurt, either).
