COLIN CASSADY, ENZO AMORE, & THE HYPE BROS. vs. JASON JORDAN, CHAD GABLE DASH WILDER, & SAWYER FULTON- 6.5/10
SOOO MUCH FUN! That spot where Colin threw Enzo over the top rope was CRAZY!

REGAL PLUGS THE DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM CLASSIC- Neville shows up and says he wants to complete. Regal says okay.

FINN BALLOR PROMO FROM AFTER THE LADDER MATCH- good

EMMA VIDEO PACKAGE- very good.

DEVIN INTERVIEWS CHARLOTTE & BECKY- Who the f*ck are these women anymore?
You know that old rumor from the early 90’s that the Ultimate Warrior had died and WWE had replaced him with a different guy and was passing him off as the original? Well I have not ruled out the possibility that such a thing happened to these two the night after the first “divas revolution” segment on Raw because they are just completely different people now. It’s like their souls and personalities have been sucked out and replaced with crappy WWE writers’ verbiage.

BECKY LYNCH VIDEO PACKAGE- As if to taunt me, the first thing Becky said in her video package was “What makes Becky Lynch special is personality.” Well… at least until WWE creative got their hands on her.
This video package was so great that it just makes the way these women have been mishandled on the main roster so much more infuriating.

EVA MARIE vs. CARMELLA- 3/10, but perfectly fine for the time it got.
I thought the crowd was extremely unfair in their crapping on this match.
In case there was anyone who had any delusions that Carmella was actually over on her own, this came along to dissuade them.

TYLER BREEZE PROMO- good

DEVIN TAYLOR INTERVIEWS EMMA AND DANA BROOKE- bad
Dana was dressed like she was getting ready for a rave instead of a wrestling match. She was barely recognizable. Their promos were both bad.

DANA BROOKE VIDEO PACKAGE- decent.

BAYLEY PROMO- the standard “so deliriously happy I can barely speak coherently.” It was fine for what it was. Her family showed up to congratulate her.

SEGMENT LEADING TO THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE FIRST MATCH IN THE DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT- It’s going to be Rhyno & Corbin vs. The Ascension. Shoot me now.

“THE NEXT & IMPROVED BULL DEMPSEY” WILL WRESTLE NEXT WEEK- sure. Why not?

KEVIN OWENS PROMO AFTER LOSING THE BELT- well done

“THE DRIFTER” ELIAS SAMPSON vs. “THE NEW & IMPROVED” BULL DEMPSEY- 0.5/10
Sampson how has a guitar. Bull looks less fat, but still has a fat-guy singlet, so it actually looks worse. He also still used a bunch of fat-guy moves. The match was boring.

SAMOA JOE PROMO- good

APOLLO CREWS PROMO- got his “so deliriously happy I can’t speak” bit across very well.

ALEXA BLISS PROMO- goofy, but she kind of made it work. She wants to send Blue Pants “back to the clearance rack where she belongs.” She was also wearing this sort of claw-like bits of jewelry on her hand like Rita Repulsa.

CHARLOTTE VIDEO PACKAGE-
“I don’t look at myself as a woman. I look at myself as someone who can be the biggest star in this company.” THIS!
THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS!
Focus on her as an individual with a story and she’ll get over. That’s what happened in NXT! You can’t just give them extra time and spend that whole time yakking about how great this “era of the female athlete” is because, “the female athlete” is an abstract term! It’s not something that will ever be a draw or a star. But Charlotte, the individual, SHE can be a star. Just like Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks and Paige can be stars. But once you strip them of their individuality and just say “cheer for them because they are women who can go” you stop focusing on what really gets fans invested: the personalities and their stories.

FATAL FOUR-WAY MATCH: Becky Lynch vs. Emma vs. Dana Brooke vs. Charlotte- 6/10
The match was good while it lasted. Emma got the win with the Emma-mite Sandwich, which was very surprising. Then Charlotte attacked Emma after the match for no reason. Dana came to help her friend out and make the save, but Becky attacked her and the babyfaces put the heels in their submissions for no reason. What a pair of sore losers!

This was not a good episode of NXT. It felt they spliced a WWE Network Takeover post-show into a few mediocre matches.
