BRM Reviews the 11/11/2015 NXT

Post by Big Red Machine » Nov 12th, '15, 00:35

TYE DILLENGER vs. BARON CORBIN- no rating, good segment.
Apollo Crews comes out and charges Corbin before the match can get started and they have a brawl.

ALEXA BLISS! & BLAKE & MURPHY vs. BAYLEY & THE HYPE BROS- 4.75/10
You know what, NXT crowd? If you’re going to cheer for the Hype Bros… especially when they are standing against Alexa Bliss… then you can all just f*ck off. They’re SOOO annoying, and yet you’ll make up cheers for them… but you never did anything for Alexa despite the fact that she was the bestest babyface ever. Shame on all of you!
Bayley’s ability to mold herself to her partners’ gimmick while still remaining very much Bayley is a skill that will serve her well simply by making any tag team match she is in stand out fans’ memories.
The key point here is that Alexa ran off with the Women’s Title. Bayley eventually ran off to chase her, leaving us with Hype Bros vs. Blake & Murphy, which the Hype Bros won, which makes sense as the real heat- Alexa stealing the title- is still intact.

ASCENSION PROMO- this was the first time I can kind of understand how some people can like these goofy Ascension promos.

EVA MARIE & NIA JAX MEET BACKSTAGE- there was no sound for this, but it ended with them both walking through a door together. I hope they’ve both just decided to quit the business forever.

APOLLO CREWS PROMO- good

DIANA vs. NIA JAX- dull squash

BAYLEY LOOKS FOR ALEXA- didn’t like it.
She finds her backstage, having a dude take pictures of her posing with the title. This made Alexa seem like a dork. Alexa drops the belt and runs. Bayley goes to leave the room, but instead bumps into Nia Jax. This allows Alexa to come back and attack Bayley from behind. Then Nia Jax picked up the title to look at before giving it back to Bayley… which means they are going to be building NIA JAX up for a title shot. Wow. They’re really pushing this girl. It’s almost like she’s the cousin of someone important or something.

NXT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Vaudevillans(c) vs. Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder- 6.5/10
Thus ends the tag title reign of the Vaudevillans. They did nothing and beat almost no one, having by far the worst reign in the history of the belts. Again… can someone please explain to me why the Vaudevillans’ title reign didn’t go to Cass & Enzo instead?

DASH & DAWSON PROMO- good

ALEXA IS GETTING A TITLE SHOT NEXT WEEK!
I was kind of hoping they’d save this for the next Takeover Special.

JOE EXPLAINS HIS HEEL TURN- awesome promo by Joe. Then Balor comes out and referees hold them apart. Joe wound up attacking Balor and chocking him out. Great stuff.

A fine show from NXT, but nowhere near as awesome as next week will be when Alexa Bliss beats up that stupid Bayley and wins the NXT Women’s Title!

Holy crap I don't watching all of tonight's wrestling and it's only 2:17 am! I might even be able to get to sleep before three!

I believe they were supposed to debut around the time Brooklyn happened and they didn't want to put the titles on them

NO NO NO, the next champion MUST be Dana Brooke, so she can tap that little midget-Baylye Izzy on the head

Wait... someone thought Cass & Enzo were ready for the main roster? As takers, yes, but as workers... they seem to be stuck in that category with guys like Lefort, Louis, Mojo, English when he had his singing gimmick and some others where they would stick them on NXT TV all the time but they never let them go more than five minutes, and I assume there is a reason for that.

I didn't say Alexa should win (I wouldn't be opposed to it, though). I just said she should get the next Takeover title shot.

i'm guessing it's one of those where they just want to capitalize on Enzo's mic skills and the momentum they have on their opener promo thing that they're willing to ignore the rest. For some reason they didn't back then, but there seemed to be talks again to push them for against the New Day

Maybe it got dropped when the Dudleys signed?
