Urban Wrestling Federation to Return?

The hip hop/pro wrestling hybrid The Urban Wrestling Federation, which ran a series of taped PPV events several years ago, is apparently in the process of a rebirth. PWInsider.com had heard rumors of this a month ago but were unable to confirm at the time.

The promotion's Twitter sent out the following yesterday: " Sh**s about to pop off! Urban Wrestling Federation returns SUMMER 2016! Tell someone. The streets are talking. #UWF @URBANWRESTLING"

The promotion was owned by Steve Karel, who held the post of General Manager for the original ECW's business end. Karel appeared in vignettes for the promotion and in it's final special, was seen "escaping out of town."
