EVOLVE getting too WWEish and Lio Rush?

Post by cero2k » Apr 20th, '16, 08:27

just two things that i noticed on the EVOLVE 60 press release.
April 20th: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Marty Scurll has been signed for EVOLVE 61 on May 7th in Queens, NY! This is a dream match straight from Europe!
So the 'dream match' that has already happened in like 3 different promotions INCLUDING one in the US ? Are the WWE.com people now writing EVOLVE's press releases?
April 20th: Matt Riddle vs. Lio Rush is set for EVOLVE on May 7th. These are two break out rookies from 2015. This year has seen both of them become stars. Riddle uses his MMA influences. Rush is a high-flyer. Which breakout star will win this clash of styles?
Wasn't Lio Rush JUST signed for ROH? Is he trying to get to the cruiserweight shit?

Rush is just fulfilling his obligations. Also, I'm not sure that his contract was one of those super-exclusive ones that Lethal/Briscoes/Roddy/Cole/O'Reilly/Fish have.

If you think EVOLVE is getting "too WWE-ish" then you haven't been watching the product. Freakin' New Japan is closer to WWE than EVOLVE is, from an in-ring standpoint and possibly even in terms of storylines.

Cagematch.net says that they have actually only had two singles matches since 2012: one in 2014 in the UK and the one in PWG last year... and considering how much better that PWG match would have been without all of dumb comedy and stalling and other PWG sh*t, if you're an EVOLVE fan, then this match, which will be devoid of all of that crap, is, indeed, the dream match.
