Women's Title a Hot Potato?

Post by Big Red Machine » Oct 31st, '16, 02:27

Anyone else getting this feeling? It seems like it would have made a lot more sense to keep the belt on Sasha- or at least leave it on Charlotte until HIAC so Sasha could win it in her home town and Charlotte's second reign could last longer.
Thoughts?

unless Sasha is legit injured again, i definitely see no point in doing yet another title change between these two in such a short notice. I'm guessing that they wanna haste up Bayley to the title scene now, knowing WWE their brains can't function unless it's heel vs face, so they made the change.

it's pretty annoying.

Except in a face vs face match, someone is likely to be booed. Unless you're comfortable with someone working heel and getting booed, then don't do a face vs face match. Sasha is clearly the golden girl of the Raw Women's Division right now and Bayley might be the most uber babyface in the history of time. I can't blame WWE for not wanting either booed in this situation

I disagree. You can totally do a babyface vs. babyface match without someone getting booed. Gabe used to book them all the time in ROH and they always worked.

Yeah that was weird.
When they come, they'll come at what you love.

It's also occurred to me that maybe in this instance they've realized the babyface to hitch your wagon to is Bayley and not Sasha, so they just hot potatoed the title so Bayley can feud with and beat a heel.

Maybe they're trying to demonstrate that the two are so well matched that they can trade wins at any time.

A better to present this would of course be a best of series.

Or just book them against each other fewer times so each reign could be longer.

Either way, though, that's not the feeling I got from WWE tonight. That Charlotte segment last night felt like a message that Charlotte won the feud and is now done with Sasha.
