February 21st: WWN will crown the first WWN Champion at the WWN Supershow: Mercury Rising 2017 on April 1st at 8pm in Orlando, FL. This champion will reign over WWN and go to the various WWN promotions for title defenses. WWN officials have decided how the champion will be determined. WWN Family promotions have been asked to send a current or former champion for a multi-person elimination match. The lone survivor of this match of champions will be the first WWN Champion! Tickets are now on sale.
February 21st: Former EVOLVE Champion and multi-time EVOLVE Tag Team Champion Drew Galloway has demanded to be entered in the WWN Championship Decision Match. His resume backs up this demand. He is the first competitor officially entered into this multi-man elimination match of champions on April 1st at the WWN Supershow.

I don't understand the purpose of this. First of all, how are they going to book it with so many different promoters? It's going to be an territorial NWA World Heavyweight Title except that no one will care about it and its existence will actually hurt all of the promotions by making their own world champion not feel like the top dog.

that's what I was thinking, it instantly makes Thatcher and Yehi (et al) not the top guys in each of their promotions because now there is a bigger title out there that governs over theirs.

And it's the sort of thing that makes even less sense if you want to do "joint shows" like they do on WM weekend every year because then instead of a card full of top titles from each promotion you have a card full of secondary titles and then one top title. Also, unless they're going to do intergender matches (which Gabe and Sal are definitely smart enough not to do so that they don't risk their relationship with WWE), you are basically cutting the women out and making them look secondary by making them ineligible for the top title.

I'm also not liking how they're deciding to crown the new champ, Galloway got in there because he's pissed. They have a tournament based promotion, why not make this title the season finale of such tournaments?
the only thing that i could see some interest in is that WWN SHOULD be forced to do more joint shows from now on

Galloway is getting in because of his WWN resume.
As for the join shows, I actually hate them. It's usually just an Evolve show that they throw SHINE and FIP a bone at, so why not just do an Evolve show (especially because the SHINE women pretty much all work SHIMMER anyway and SHIMMER has their own show that weekend)?
