I know what she is referring to, and I am saying that it doesn't matter because the segment established the character. How else could you have possibly debuted that character?

but the problem was not debuting that character, but debuting AS that character.

How about in a more tastful way?
They could have just had Kelly debut with Mike Knox. They didn't have to make her strip.

Yes they did. That is the character. She is a stripper whose boyfriend doesn't want her stripping. What would you have rather had them do? Have her get on the mic and say "I am a stripper" then hand Knox the mic and have him say "but I don't want her stripping." How flat would that have fallen? That would have sucked because it breaks te rule of show. Don't tell."
