With all the Russo talk these days, stories of his follies are rampant. I came across one today that I didn't know...

Did you know Vince Russo, without permission from IWGP, had Jushin "Thunder" Liger drop his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to Juventud Guerrera on an episode of Nitro? The finish saw Guerrera hit Liger over the head with a bottle of tequila.

Whether it was part of Russo's plan or an effort to make things right with a furious IWGP (who was upset about not only what happened, but also how), Liger won the title back 7 days later from Psicosis - who subbed for an injured Guerrera.

While IWGP didn't recognize the change initially, Juvi has since been added and holds the record for the championship's shortest reign.

I knew about the controversy, but I didn't know NJPW had given in and was officially counting the reign.

He also did something similar in 2009 with the British Invasion beating Team 3-D for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.
