DDP in ICU due to throat problems, may need surgery

Diamond Dallas Page did a lengthy Facebook post saying that he is in Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta because his throat closed down earlier today and wasn't allowing him to breathe.

He said that after being examined by Dr. Daniel G. Carothers, he was diagnosed as having almost no space between his vocal cords.

"They're almost stuck together, that's not how he said it but it was something like that," he wrote.

He said he's got mucus trapped underneath his vocal cords crusting up.

He said while being examined, suddenly, he couldn't breathe. He claimed his practicing breathing from his abdominals and obliques worked and was able to get a little air. Carothers sent him to ICU and told him he couild have died right there.

Page wrote that the clinical diagnosis of what he has is vocal cord swelling and scaring subglottic tracheitis, which may require surgery.

He's doing vaporized seroid treatments, both shots and pills, and using a mask that blows mist into his mouth to lossen the mucus trapped under the throat.
