Davey Richards Returns to EVOLVE, Steel Cage, and More

Gabe Sapolsky announced on social media that Baretta was off the 3/8 return to Deer Park, Long Island for EVOLVE 38. Sapolsky announced this morning that Davey Richards would be replacing Baretta, facing Tony Nese, so they reworked the card with the departure of Baretta. WWNLive stated that Baretta "pulled himself off the show. Baretta is heading to Ring of Honor.

For those who asked, there are no plans for Samoa Joe in EVOLVE. I get the impression the two sides spoke and were far apart on money.

The Deer Park show, which will air live on iPPV at WWNLive.com (you can pre-order by creating an annount with/logging into your WWNLive account at this link will be headlined by EVOLVE champion Drew Galloway (fka McIntyre) vs. Roderick Strong in a Steel Cage match, which sounds awesome. Their match last year in Brooklyn, NY was one of my favorite matches on the independents.

The card will also feature:

*Chris Hero vs. Drew Gulak

*Biff Busick vs. Caleb Konley

*AR Fox vs. Matt Cage

The event will be a double header with FTW, which will have a 5 PM live event with Kevin Nash appearing alongside Earl Cooter, AR Fox and Joey Janella.

From what I hear, Trent will also being going to New Japan to replace Alex Koslov.


More interestingly... what does this mean for the Wolves future in TNA? I really hope that they didn't decide to just not use Davey until Eddie recovers because, at worst, he is someone you can use to get great matches out of guys like Gunner and Bram and Magnus while not hurting him too much with a loss because he's only been portrayed as a tag team guy in TNA.

i think it's just that with doing a bunch of tapings every now and never, TNA is allowing their guys to book dates somewhere else, so i don't think they're just not gonna use him. I mean, they're not that stupid, are they?

Yeah but EVOLVE is a pretty big indy for TNA to let guys wrestle for. Last I heard TNA guys weren't allowed to do iPPVs.
