In what is a major political move, New Japan Pro Wrestling has booked Jushin Liger to appear on 8/22 for WWE on its NXT Brooklyn show, to face Tyler Breeze.

New Japan had already booked Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika Okada and Kushida for ROH that same night, also in Brooklyn.

There are other significant moves being made behind-the-scenes that don't involve New Japan, regarding NXT and ROH that are likely to become evident in short order.

I'm not scared that ROH and NJPW could have a fallout, but i'm freaking out of the idea of WWE signing guys like Okada

I don't see any of the Japanese guys leaving for WWE.

Losing the relationship wouldn't be backbreaking for ROH, but I do think they get a lot more benefit from the partnership than New Japan does.

An interesting tidbit from PWI Insider:
Obviously, the political implications here are very interesting. New Japan has a working relationship with ROH, which is running the same night in another part of Brooklyn (about 30-40 minutes away) with Shinsuke Nakamura, KUSHIDA and Kazuchika Okada appearing. It should be interesting to see whether WWE booked Liger via New Japan or went directly to Liger, who has the ability to book himself internationally.
Liger booking this himself should explain things away.

I actually disagree, say each company takes their own guys, NJPW loses their whole Jr tag division. ROH just wouldn't have a NJPW show

The only guys under ROH contract in the Jr. tag division are reDRagon. If New Japan tells its guys not to work for ROH, then ROH loses AJ and the Bucks (and also RPG Vice but no one cares about them) plus the New Japan shows, which have drawn HUGE every time. If not for this NXT thing, I have no doubt that Field of Honor 2015 would at least challenge the ROH all-time attendance record, and that is due in major part to the NJPW talent being there.

ROH can likely pull Kingdom and Elgin at this point too and screw them up on the tag division and G1 Climax.

The Heavyweight Tag Division doesn't mean sh*t, even to New Japan. It's the staleness of the Junior Tag division, but with worse matches. ROH won't do anything until after the G1 because then NJPW will pull their guys from Brooklyn and Philly, and even if they did, all it would do is make Elgin mad and New Japan would just plug someone else into his spot (Sakuraba? Smith? Archer? Suzuki?) I got the impression that The Kingdom are done in New Japan- especially if Gallows keeps bringing his wife along.

I think we're also ignoring this, I wonder if WWE and ROH are working together, or if this is part of the whole WWE buys EVOLVE rumor
